ICE Recycling Foundry

talisawizard 7

The Idea was to build a NEXTFoundry deck with as much ICE as possible.

It still needs some refinements, but it can build up a large wall of intimidating ICE quickly. And it is fun to pilot.

Some thoughts on some of the key cards:

  • Special Offer: How does a self-fetching, 1-credit Hedge Fund sound to you? Also great for placing it front of other ICE, making sure you have enough money, even if the runner runs you with 1 credit left.

  • Pop-up Window: More self-fetching card economy, great on R&D and HQ.

  • Minelayer: This allows you to build a monster Server for no additional cost. Also great for R&D and HQ, the more they hammer it the stronger it becomes. The Foundry makes sure you'll always have ICE to put there.

  • Executive Boot Camp: Can be used against timid runners to rez your ICE. Allows you to use the Foundry's ability on your turn, make that NEXT ICE stronger and just rez ICE for the purpose of Peak Efficiency

  • Reclamation Order: Against ICE destruction this allows you to get your NEXT Silver back, which usually gets targeted. If you are short on money, you can get your Peak Efficiency on your hand.

I think that's about it. Looking forward to feedback, as I think this deck can still need a lot of finetuning. I am not yet sold on Quicksand and Ichi 2.0 in this deck.

Thanks for putting this up. Couple initial thoughts:

  • Instead of Ichi 2.0, have you considered Vikram 1.0 or Assassin? Possibly swap out the Quicksands for Bastions/Wall of Static/Markus 1.0?

  • I was thinking maybe the agenda suite could be: 3x ABT, 3x Vitruvius, 1x Hades, 1x Eden, 1x DHHP, 1x CP? Project Wotan only has two potential targets and Utopia Fragment is okay, but probably doesn't fit the deck. The recursion Vitruvius brings could keep Special Offers and other key cards online.

  • Instead of 3x Peak Efficiency and 2 Reclamation Order, maybe 1x Peak Efficiency, 3x Hedge Fund, 1x Reclamation Order. Hedge Funds are still good in this kind of deck and less conditional than Peak Efficiency. I can see Reclamation Order being useful to keep the Special Offers coming, but it is not too essential.

  • Go down to 1x Shipment from Mirrormorph. It's a pretty useful way to get out of someone trashing your Cybernetics Court (like our last game) to go vertical or horizontal, but most of the time it'll be a dead card in hand. Add in 2x Biotic Labor as those will help you close out the game by fast advancing out your 2/3s and 1/3s.

Looking forward to testing it out some more :)

Thanks for the Feedback.

  • I think I'll go with Assassin, I like that it can't be clicked through, although Vikram 1.0 has 1 more sub at 1 less cost, so I might come back to it later. I dumped Quicksand without replacement, It's a bit less ICE than I wanted, but other Cards feel more essential than the extra ICE.

  • Love the agenda suite that you suggested, to make room for the extra agenda I removed 1x Shipment from MirrorMorph.

  • I kept both the 2x Reclamation Order and 3x Peak Efficiency. They just serve me very well, time and time again. I find that in this deck I sometimes don't have the money for Hedge Fund when I need it most.

  • I kept 2x Shipment from MirrorMorph, I could probably go down to 1 and add another ICE, but I find myself often with 7 or 8 cards at the start of a round due to Foundry's ability, so not wasting all those clicks seems nice. 2x Biotic Labor are a godsend, especially against those Runners who like to sit back and wait for you to install a card in a remote.

Thanks so much for your suggestions, good stuff.
