Semi-Rogue Argus V7 - Now That's Dedication

slobad31 584

Dedicate all the things! Churn your refineries for 12 credits in one turn. Go in reverse to steal 12 from those who would dare steal from you. Boost your construction schedule to make even more bank. In a pinch, bolster your walls to keep hooligans at bay. Cut all them ribbons!

Very interesting.

I have been running a similar deck out of Titan, with some success.
International Monetary Food v1.2, or I run it in Argus and drop the Wraparound/Swordsman for Weyland ice.

Think I will give this a try. I never thought about Casting Call.

I tried this with Titan, but I'm a die hard Argus fan. Casting call is insurance if you dedicate a Renovation, putting the runner between a rock and a swat team. My problems with Argus in the past have been rich runners, but the synergy with Reversed Accounts is the real deal.

I just took a look at yours. Very nice! My only problem with Titan was that I was slotting agendas and other cards to capitalize on its ability. That's part of what convinced me to test out Argus. It is nice to have the influence for Midseasons, though, but with the money opportunities here, SEA Source does just fine for what you need.

I've switched to Argus for good on this. Dropped Midseason and Traffic for 3x Scorch and 1x SEA Source.

I had an extra spot in the deck so I tried out a Paywall Implementation tonight with good results.

How do you feel about your ice composition? I don't know how much work Swordsman is doing for me. Lotus Field I like for sure. I would like to include something like Vikram 1.0

I'm also not sure if the Chekpoints are helping or hindering me.

How is Wormhole working for you?

Paywall is always nice, but you run a higher risk of it getting trashed with the higher agenda count in Argus. If it's working for you, though, stick with it.

As for the ICE, I'm still working with it. I think Lotus Field could sub in for Swordsman, but it depends on how prevalent AIs are in your meta. Weyland's issue always seems to be with ICE, so I'm hoping some good stuff will be coming in the future on that front.

I think Vikram could be good, and I hadn't considered it. Lowering their hand size to Scorched kill range would be pretty nice. The only problem I have there, having played so many renditions of Argus, is the traces. This also applies to Checkpoint. With bad publicity involved, it makes traces that much harder to pull off. They could be worth using, though, since they have a higher initial trace. And Vikram has two traces, so the first will eat up the bad pub, if they don't break it.

Regarding Wormhole, it's decent so far. Most times, it just copies an ETR, but being able to copy Grim or Assassin has me holding onto it for now.

The maths says that Oaktown Renovation is a terrible choice for Dedication Ceremony: In theory it gains you one credit more over all. How does it hold up?

You are correct. Certainly, the ideal targets are the Refinery and Reversed Accounts, but with Casting Call, I've used it to sit on an Oaktown that I wholly intended to give the runner, and they can't afford to let that happen. 9 times out of 10, though, it'll be something other than a Renovation that gets dedicated.

I only run 8 agendas in mine: Agenda Agenda (9)

2x Geothermal Fracking 2x Global Food Initiative •• 2x Oaktown Renovation 3x Project Atlas

Err...9 that is.

Haha well, that's certainly doable, then!
