Nexus Jesminder

This deck is a lot of fun. Went 2-2 at a GNK tournament tonight, so probably needs a bit more refinement, but I think the core is solid.

Security Nexus is a great console for Jesminder. It's super powerful to be able to run and know that no matter what the ice is you'll be able to just end the run (without having to even deal with the tag). It means you can put a lot of pressure on the corp as soon as you can scrape together the 8 credits for Security Nexus, and even more once you can get the Rabbit Holes installed.

Much of the rest of the deck was originally borrowed from ElderMason's Nexus Kate deck. I dropped Faust and some of the card draw for a second Atman and the Underworld Contacts (because Faust is boring and I actually want to play my cards) and Lady for Corroder (MWL),

Round 1 (vs Foodcoats): Atman at 3 + Atman at 4 + Security Nexus meant Jesminder could go wherever she wanted. Eli's and Ichi's beware! Cyber-Cypher also does good work against Turings on the scoring server.

Round 2 (vs another Foodcoats): The corp managed to get out a lot more of their economy a lot earlier this game. I foolishly self-modded into a Corroder instead of waiting and saving up for the Atman at 4.

Round 3 (vs yet another ETF deck): This ETF was a little bit less Foodcoatsy, but really only because they made room for Biotic Labors. The econ engine was the same Breaker Bay Grid + Sexbots. Anyways, this game I couldn't pull my econ (or my Corroder!) fast enough.

Round 4 (vs Pālanā Foods): Finally, a non-HB deck! This went very well. In the first turn or two, the Corp Celebrity Gifted me the knowledge that the only ice in their hand was a Lotus Field, then installed it over R&D. I happened to pull 2 of Modded early, along with a couple R&D interfaces, so I was able to install Atman at 4 and happened to pull 3 2-point agendas in one access and a 4th on the next access.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it, but I'd definitely love to hear what changes you might make.

God that Nexus is a genius move. Is there any room for Code Siphon, since you can use nexus to deal with the ice you can't break yet? Maybe replacing the 1x Earthrise.

Thanks for the shout-out. I'm crossing my fingers that the glacier meta comes back and Nexus will be back on top.

RubbishyUsername: Thanks! Code Siphon is an interesting idea. I could see it being especially useful if I get Nexus out early but can't find the Magnum Opus. I'll have to give it a try!

Great job :) But actually, scraping The Dog for Corroder because of MWL doesn't make much sense influence-wise... :)

Haha, fair enough!

But I think in a meta where Faust exists Lady isn't quite as good as she used to be. I see a goodly number of Spiderwebs, and that basically means Lady is only useful twice until you need to install a new one or clone chip/scavenge her, and clone chips are also on the MWL.

At the moment, I'm thinking of dropping one of the clone chips for something else since I don't need them for Lady recursion. Maybe the Clone Chip and the HQ interface for 3x Power Tap? Not sure yet.

So I love the core of this build, but I think you're overvaluing Jesminder's ability to allow for failure during a run. I put the same skeleton into Haley and I've found that the rapid-fire installs are much more valuable for getting the many moving parts of this rig online (as an added bonus, it makes QT much easier to use and Clot is literally a threat from anywhere for her).

On the subject of Power Tap: Yes. Absolutely yes, many times over. In addition to being a guaranteed three creds when you fire SecNexus. it generates massive value against Ash, Ichi 1.0, Data Raven, Resistor, Assassin, Caduceus and on and on and on.

I tried a couple rounds with -1 Clone Chip, -1 Earthrise Hotel, -1 HQ Interface, -1 Deus X, +1 Underworld Contact +3 Power Tap, only to faceplant a Junebug for 6 net damage, lose my Atman, and not be able to dig out my single Clone Chip before the end of the game.

So, Clone Chip is a great card you guys! Put two or more in your decks :-D
