Argus Hospitality - 1st place Sydney Regional (35 Players)

Firstly I can't claim too much credit for this deck it was built by the current Australian National Champ (Daryl Russel). He took it and won 2 store championships with the previous iteration and then kindly allowed me to pilot it at the Sydney Regionals.

The deck has come about in response to a heavy Faust Wyldcakes local meta with multi routine ice demanding cards be paid and economy purely from Agendas and Operations. Argus should not be concerned about public image and it hands out lots of bad publicity but takes piles of cash to assist in offering classic Weyland hospitality to those that come into your house.

Piloting the deck is reasonably straight forward once you have the feel, it is simply start applying pressure by scoring early thus demanding that the runner come interact. It is important to set the tempo letting your ID do work and not affording the runner much time to find cards like Employee Strike/Plascrete/Film Critic (although the deck can deal with all of these). Jackson usually recycles agendas and Snares in the digging quest - assembling the kill pieces as quickly as possible.

Ok so the agenda suite is fairly straight forward and I think the one that needs a mention is False Lead. This can be a game breaker and knowing when to use it is important, the most obvious case is during a run to ensure the tags stick around but I have been able to use it to hamstring a Wanton Destruction on my precious hand.

The rest of deck is generally what you would expect in a tournament deck so I won't go into too much detail just that despite all that bad pub funnily enough the Tracers may be the only ice I res late game.

Lastly the new card and the one that should be discussed is Salem's Hospitality. There are times when this will fizzle and all you will do is advertise to your opponent what you are most concerned about right now. My main targets are I've Had Worse and occasionally Account Siphon (unless False Lead scored) but keep an open mind about their game plan (especially if an unsuspecting runner Special Orders up a breaker in preparation for playing it the next turn). This card allowed a dramatic and sudden win in the grand final against Ryan's Whizzard deck scrapping the pesky Steelskin and making way for the SS/Scorched!

The Sydney Netrunners and the TO Jaime are awesome and deserve a shoutout for being such a friendly group and great competitors.

This deck is a Menace! I played an earlier incarnation of this list on the day so along with Darryl himself ( who placed first in Swiss ), there were 3 players of this list in the Top 8.

Congrats on the win mate and it was great to meet you!
