MaxX-Fury!1.2 [Tampere Regionals Edition]

F£ck off!1

...I mean, hello there.

I took a slightly revised version of my previous Hack-Fu gal's rig to Tampere Regionals on 28th of May 2016, and made it 5th place (just outside top 4) with the best SoS of the whole lot. That means I got to play all of the hot jazzers, including the whole top 4 and a fellow contestant for the places.

So I didn't get into the top4 (which was great, I wouldn't have had the time or stamina anyways), so I don't know if I can really say it Placed high in a tournament, but I'll take that risk. My corping was poor, but this deck did well against the whole big shot cavalcade.

MaxX-Fury!1 went 4/5 wins. I'll spoil that you can see my only loss in the links below, which was basically settled with a coin toss. Went against two NEHs, two SOLs and a single Argus that day.

In Action:

Here you can find two videos from Tampere Regionals 2016 with me playing two fun and intense games against two different SOL players, both of which ended up in top 4. Lauri won the whole tournament with his SOL and NorsuLeela (both of which you'll find in NetrunnerDB). There are no english commentaries in swiss videos, but I heard there will be for the top games.

Swiss Game 3 R 1

Swiss Game 4 R 1

Some notes:

  • It's just an awful lot of fun, so it is! The deck mutates and goes through such viscisitude that you have hard time keeping track of your plan yourself. So many options all the time.

  • Apocalypse is there for a surprise and against assets. Still so-and-so about DDos - really hard to pull off, pretty random and all that. Keep the option open (it's doable even with a Same Old Thing through Amped Up), but don't count on it.

  • Nerve Agent wins you games. No joke.

  • I tried without PrePaids for a while but they're worth the influence if you go event heavy. They'll pay for so many things, for example the cutlery spam.

Lastly, thank you once again for all the excellent, oh so excellent games in the Regionals! Ecxcellent players, excellent games, excellent sports

I'll once again conclude with a wee story:

”GAME OVER”

I'm a hacker, and damn good at my job.

It all began months… a week ago, maybe. I don’t know, time’s such a b*tch to keep track of.

During this one sweet stimtrip me and my partner were running this server. Then the suits came.

With one fatal blow, they hit my partner. The currents a blur through my high.

I'm guessing he flatlined straight off.

Before I could jack out, I was hit by lightning and bitten by a cybercypher.

I blacked out. And saw images of ancient Mumba temples and monks, mastering the art of Hack-Fu.

There was an ancient prophecy, about a new form of Hack-Fu so powerful, only one runner could master it.

The chosen one.

When I woke up, I saw my rig smoking and felt the withdrawal effects in my brain.

I could feel my body mutate into some sort of... well a freak of nature with one hell of a headache.

I needed a fix, so I called my partner. But remembered he might be dead. But then at the news the suits informed they’d captured some hacker, and raided my partner’s stash. So, he wasn’t dead. But the suits had my fix.

So that got me real pissed off. I remembered I forgot to return a sweet set of a console from Ji I borrowed once (he’ll be so pissed), so I set them on, dropped the bass and started dialing – I had friends, they had my partner and his stash, and what’s more:

There’s no way I’d start off a day without a killer dose.

Then I wiped the f*king internet clean with explosions. They made a movie about me. Go watch it. I showed them some hell of Hack-Fu.
