Making an Entrance combo Kate

Charlesworth 73

Untuned as hell and thrown together this morning. Seems strong tho (5-0 in casual room on j.net, can't argue with that).

The basic game plan in case it is not clear is to just be a normal Kate deck (with stealth breakers because a) they are cheap and b) I think they are well positioned) but with worse econ. However to make up for this you have Making an Entrance to set up your draws (this deck/Kate decks in general play a lot of redundant pieces so you can trash those) and also trash as many Out of the Ashes as possible.

Then you set up for a turn where you can OOTA centrals (ideally with RnDIs) and then score some number of Notoriety.

Deck is too many cards because it is thrown together. I think the Daily Casts are the worst card so I would cut those first I think.

I'm wondering whether Legwork is a better fit than Lucky Find. 3x Clone Chip also seems like overkill, but that's personal taste.

I think that you are right on both counts. Although you cannot Legwork from OOTA so maybe HQI? Yeah you need like 2 or even 1 Clone Chip, will probably cut that.

It's a hard choice between HQI and Legwork, but I see your point with the OotA synergy, plus this is Kate. I've been playing a lot of DumboKate recently and Patron is extremely, critically good with OotA. Not sure you can fit it in here but its worth considering over, say, Diesel.

This also opens the door to switch Astrolabe out for Mirror without crippling your drip draw.

So I realised that I can afford the Legwork because normal OotA x2 is good enough (tm) so you can run Archives and RnD then click 1 Legwork leaving 3 clicks for either trips Notoriety or dubs Notoriety and something else.

I also cut a couple of Daily Casts to get to that magical 45 cards but I might actually need the econ. Also, for 23 second -1 Clone Chip +1 Deuces are Wild might be good.

Not sure on Patron purely because the way I play this deck is as a combo deck that can also snipe remotes. As a result, I rarely run and basically never OotA unless I have set up a big turn.

That said I am sure someone else will probably play it better/differently and see the value in those cards. I think Astrolabe is better still but it is hard to call, as I said I rarely run so Mirror's ability is rarely going to trigger.

Looking forward to tuning this and seeing if I can make it good.

Maybe make some room for The Turning Wheel? That might help with multi access on HQ instead of HQI.
