Replicating Perfection is alive and well again! After looking at who got hit hardest by the MWL/FAQ changes, it was mostly RP's worst matchups. So I started looking at old RP builds again.

The other card that makes RP strong again is Sandburg. Even if left undefended, the runner must make a run against some buffed strength ICE in order to get rid of Sandburg. If the runner takes forever to set up, you can often sit on a pile of 30+ credits and watch as your ICE taxes the runner out of the game.

The strategy for this deck is unchanged, make money with Sundew and Mental Health Clinic (hooray for Wyldside being less common, and Whizzard being less common!), then score out in a server behind some upgrades and ICE.

The Ash 2X3ZB9CY is to have some mitigation against Political Operative, which I imagine will quickly become the next Clot in terms of a card that everyone tries to make room for. Voter Intimidation also works against it, and can also be used to snipe the occasional economy resource.

The ICE in the deck is very flexible, and you can adapt it to your meta. Some examples below:

  • Eli 1.0 is good against Corroder but bad against Lady, whereas Ashigaru is good against Lady, but against most decks that play Corroder, is too expensive.

  • Lotus Field is a good card again, now that Anarchs are looking at Yog.0 again, although is still weak against Faust.

  • Susanoo-no-Mikoto is strong against decks that don't play D4v1d. Many shaper decks must use Panchatantra and a disposable breaker to get through it each time, or an Atman on 7, which is conveniently messed up by Sandburg.

Mostly, you want to play ICE that is punishing to run against, and does not require traces (as the runner can win traces without having to deal with the high strength provided by Sandburg.)

This deck has been performing well on Jinteki, but naturally has not stood up to the test of a tournament.

Played this deck. I like it. I did drop the Voter Intimidation in favor for an extra Sandburg.
