The Last Crusade (1st draft)

Giles 37

This deck is basically utilising the power of cheap taxing Grail ice and Sandburg to be able to score out agendas. Im using Off the grid and crisium grid as a way to either protect the agendas or the sandburg or both, because the prospect of having to run through HQ twice and then a remote, all at maybe +5 str to all the ice is not a nice one for the runner to face. So far testing has been very good and i have hopes for this concept, but it is currently a bit weak to Val and blackmail, the one Elizabeth mills is helpful here but im considering trying to fit in some boot camps to try and make that match up better and possibly tutor for jackson or sandburg if needed. This is a new deck at the moment so i would love to hear feedback on it and any ideas people have to make it better, or if people think it wont work at all i also want to know that so i dont waste my time :P

Thanks for any feedback.

Neat Idea! I think grail is a ton of fun.

I like the idea of dropping a Sandburg for a Boot Camp. It can pull up a Mills or a Sandburg when the time is right.

I don't have much experience piloting Blue Sun. Do you have enough early game ice to protect your centrals until Oversight AI shows up? I could see dropping the Assassins for Enigma or something.

i have been think of dropping the assassins for cobras as they synergise better with sandburg. possibly also putting in at least one excalibur because it plays nice with OTG. This would probably involve losing the Beanstalks but i think the economy would probably be ok with less high cost ice to tax it. This is still early days so i will have to do lots of testing.

With Faust being on the new MWL, having Excalibur coul really pay off. Against shapers it can force them to Atman at 3, which none of your other ice has. With how popular Link seems to be these days, I would certainly exchange the Assassins for Cobras, at least some of them. I am trying a similar deck, but without grails, focusing on more but cheaper to rez ice, because unlike a pure OTG deck, you most often do need to protect that sandburg.

Atman at 3 isnt that good when you take sandburg into account because it keeps the str fluxuating. Shapers seem to have a big challenge against this deck as they tend to struglle against multiple high str ice

Tried it yesterday with cobras, ebc, Excalibur and Orion and its definitely working better as I can set up and accelerate behind the early game ice then drop Sandburg and you now have a solid late game. Tempted to drop the hostiles and 1 global food to free up a slot and 1 influence

Hostiles can be a nice source of money if you need it and also a food for that lone archer. But if you do drop them what would you use 1 inf for? Encryption protocol perhaps?

Thats true, its mainly because i seem to be playing against a lot of val and blackmail, but maybe i just need to get better at knowing when to rez ice with EBC. If i did take otu the hostiles and free up influence, id probably remove archer and replace it with something else. Encryption protocol seems utterly useless in this deck, im not sure what id go for but DBS might be a good shout.

Have you considered Indian Union Stock Exchange? Really goes nicely with Grail.

it does, i dont think i have enough ice to protect it however and im not sure what i would cut for them. might have a play around with it though
