Living the Hivemind wet dream

Ok, I fell in love with janky decks. This homebrewed deck is sort of an hommage to the excellent tyrellian's Can o' Whupass. I figured that once you dropped the Aesop's Pawnshop economy you can free a lot of breathing room into Noise post MWL 1.1. So here goes, my first deck published on Netrunnerdb !

The aim of this deck is to play solitaire during the early game and build your board away from the threat of fiery death and terrifying tempo threats. Plus you get to mill some cards while you are at it !

Then once you stepped in the mid game, live the wet dream of an Hivemind loaded with 3 virus tokens. You run recklessly with a Medium or a Nerve Agent, along your army of Parasites (instantly destroying 4 strength ICEs with Grimoire mind you) while the corps tries to score 6/2s painfully. An Hivemind loaded on a Progenitor can be pumped back to 3 virus token in 2 clicks, talk about tempo.

  • Deep Thought contributes greatly to our plan of "run only when you need to". Once indirectly loaded you can bluff out and act as you saw an agenda on the top of R&D, begin to run and force ICEs rez or force the corp to pop a Jackson just to shuffle their R&D ! Oh and it also goes excessively well with "Freedom Through Equality" !

  • Rumor Mill vs Traffic Jam : i considered switching the two but Jackson Howard and Museum gave me such a headache that i can't let go of the cute pink kitty yet.

  • 3x Chakana is critical because it's the turning point where a 3/2 becomes a 6/2 and takes 3 turns to score at best (baring fast advance shenanigans). Be mindfull that only 2 Chakana are required to disrupt 4 pointers.

Problems, notes and choices :

  • I'm still searching a solution for Cyberdex Virus Suite. Councilman is neutral and could act as a "pay 3 : prevent a purge", and once it hits the table no more "Start of turn, purge thanks to Cyberdex, then score because empty Chakanas"

  • Populist Rally could be a nice counter to a good old purge for 3 clicks, using one is prolonging one turn of fully loaded tools but requires a seedy location in play though. I would include Salsette Slums to be done with Museum or Jacksons, while keeping CtM honest in early game but keep in mind that Rumor Mill blanks the trash cost.

  • Anyone ever heard about Fester ? echo

  • I honestly didn't know what to do with the 2 remaining influence. Archangel can be a real pain for nested programs so getting a proper code gate breaker is interesting but as it's often a one-off in yellow decks i didn't bother. Turing on remote sucks too, but that's what Parasite are for right ?

  • Gorman Drip v1 is cool too, it's another nice economy boost for every Hivemind based deck, gain credit without spending virus tokens and you'll feel like cheating.

  • I figured you could as well include more draws in an attempt to improve consistency, so you could consider Deuces Wild.

End word :

  • Early builds used 3x Technical Writer but have since been dropped for Day Jobs.

  • The Source could be hilarious in the deck, further pushing the advancement requirements, but it is way too expensive for an otherwise elusive ressource, both in credits and in influence.

  • Oh and rush decks wreck this deck and are a fairly common occurence these day :(

If you red this til the end i'd like to say thank you ! I often play more serious decks but sometimes i have to get lost in the abysses of jank.

However I hope that, in a reckless abandon, after 5 losses, some people might one day feel the satisfaction of living the Hivemind wet dream :')

Great deck. I've had some games to test it out and it feels like your economy depends on the corp. Gorman Drip v1 is completely useless without a pumped Hivemind since many corps utilize assets to get clicks and draws (Commercial Bankers Group,Sensie Actors Union). I feel you need to add Day Job or rethink your influence choices. Also it nice to fit #Clot into too, since Chakana Hivemind shenanigans need to a set up time where #Clot doesn't. Greetings!

You're totally right about Clot, i don't know how i even missed including it in the first place. I also tested an alternate version of the deck, dropping Gorman Drip v1 and Chakana x2 for stronger and more reliable economy.
