Kenmujin Contacts

Altoecko 32

So, I've been crafting my Ken deck for many many moons now and I think I'm finally at a good place with it. You want Symmetrical Visage, Temujin Contracts, or 2 or more of your breakers/special order in your opening hand. This deck is often at times filthy rich very quickly and can leverage this to keep the corp down at key points in the game. Unless you're facing someone who you suspect would play Chronos Protocol, don't waste the click to install Paperclip just overdraw and discard. This deck has mostly just seen casual play but I decided to post it to recieve some feedback. Thanks for your time!

Breakers:
Ok the most obvious one first.. 2x Garrote? Why would you do that over double Mongoose? Not only is Garotte a lot more expensive and lot less efficient, but it also costs 2 to install. Also, slotting both Gordian Blade and ZU.13 Key Master is overkill. I'd go for Gordian + Passport, but if you end up needing 1 influence than ZU.13 is fine. Additionally, you could add a Femme for things like Data Raven or Tollbooth.

Resources:
Seems fine, but if the deck runs as rich as you say, you may consider Drug Dealers over John Mas. It's clickless and less risky. I don't know if NACH is worth it. In my opinion, Networking and Crash Space are better but of course they require clicks. A neat trick with NACH is slotting a Film Critic, so you're not stealing agendas and NACH doesn't get trashed.

Hardware:
Third Desperado. That is all.
(Oh and if you end up struggling for deck space, I'd cut the Public Terminals. They're nice, don't get me wrong, but not necessary.)

Events are fine, although Inside Job is worth considering. Rumor Mill is good but so is Employee Strike -- that's a meta call to be honest.

I suppose Medium is fine, but alternatively you could go for The Turning Wheel for less influence and unpurge-able but it's slower.

Hope that helps :)

How do you play the run event ID and then not play the best run event? Inside Job is sickeningly good. Also, the above poster is right, you don't need both Zu and Gordian. Zu is for when you need to save influence and can't fit Gordian. Turn that thing into a Passport, that gives you two influence to spend on either and R&D Interface or some Turning Wheels. Or maybe third Desperado and a Wheel. And yes, Mongoose is way better than Garrote. Also, Faeries are pretty helpful in the early game to run with some security. 0 credits to give you the ability to facecheck with a safety net is pretty damn good. Speaking of security, Security Testing is missing from this deck. If you're gonna have a run-based econ, it's pretty great. Goes well with John, too.

Indeed, Gordian Blade and Passport is a good combo. If you're really worried about Code Gates you could add the ever-underrated Cerberus "Rex" H2. It's not as powerful as Lady but it's still a pretty good card.
