Beth-Yog Plays the Spoons

FlatlineTheCorp 8

Needs work, suggestions wanted. A Kit/Yog deck with a late game was the idea, using Beth as your way of punishing them if they don't spend money rez ICE early on and allows for easy Paintbrushing late game with the 5th click. You can MOpus up to ~18 credits with SMC installed and make no-fear runs into Atman. Not the best, but you CAN blow through any big ICE in the game that way. Lady and MOpus make great Scavenge fodder to recur your Yog.

Almost certainly needs Suckers, unsure how to fit. I like Spooned too much. Modded should probably be Kati and ProCo could be Quality Time? You need to get the Dino/Yog combo early. Femme could be Mimic, depending on your meta.

I initially love the idea of using Spooned to kill the first ICE you encounter using Kit's ability. I think this is worth trying out.

My thoughts: - I don't like Mopus and ProCo in the same deck. I've tried to make it work and it's just too much tempo loss. I think Mopus is the way to go for this deck. I would replace the ProCo's with Quality Times. - I think including some Same Old Things would make your Spooned's that much more powerful. - You need some sort of meat damage protection. - You could include Battering Ram or Snowball as your barrier breaker to free up an influence for a Datasucker.

Thanks for posting. I love the idea and it's worth trying to tweak it.

Thanks for the feedback- I really like the ideas. I'm going to try swapping Lady for Snowball to free up the influence, 1 Paintbrush for a Datasucker, 3 ProCo and 2 Modded for 3 Quality Time (might be overkill but meh, combo deck) and 2 Same Old Thing. Modded is nice but with MOpus it isn't as necessary, and Same Old Spooned is so gnarly.

Considered swapping the Femme for a Mimic now you have a Datasucker in there?

A few thoughts. I like the idea of breaking ice for free then trashing it, but....

  1. Between Modded, Scavenge, Tinkering, Test Run, Dinosaurus, Net-Ready Eyes, Leprechaun, and Paintbrush, you have 17 card slots devoted to managing the limitations of your breaker suite, whether it's the influence, memory, or strength.
  2. If you devoted half of those slots to economy, a quarter to improving your multi-access, and a quarter to recursion you would probably find that the deck could afford to pay to break subroutines, and also had a more viable win condition (R&D multi-access is always Kit's de facto win condition).
  3. Personally, I'd be inclined to look at Cyber-Cyphers instead of Yog. I'd put in Astrolabe for Dinosaurus, and some Dirty Laundry/Daily Casts econ instead of Magnum Opus (which gets you your Leprechaun slots back).
  4. Same Old Thing for your Spooned, if you're still crazy about the idea of trashing code gates. If you have two Spooned and 3 Same Old Thing, you can destroy five pieces of ice maximum in a game. Aside from the tax on your opponent to rez and replace the ice, it might be worth analyzing some common costs to break ice. Is the influence for Spooned worth it in the long run, or are you better off with more credits. Without the Spooned, you could have Temüjin Contract. Just sayin'.

@ninjaiguana, absolutely. My local playgroup's biggest threat is an HB Glacier deck that makes good use of Heimdall 2.0s, so I'm probably going to keep the Femme for now, but Mimic is much better against the meta.

@nutritionalzero thanks for the feedback! I should have made mention that Dino/Yog/Paintbrush in Kit is the entire reason I built this deck. It's beyond a doubt that just about anything else results in a much stronger deck (particularly playing a different ID), but I'm really here for the code gate shenanigans. Same story with Spooned. I'd like it to be a good deck, obviously, but first and foremost I want to have fun getting through Cerebral Imaging's Ashigaru for free. :P

I really do appreciate the suggestions, but at that point I'm playing a completely different deck (albeit a much better one, but again, not entirely why I'm here). Do you have any suggestions for keeping dino/yog and still making this baby work?
