Temujin Whizzard (1st Place Nordic Championship 2016)

gejben 523

Whizzard is good, Temüjin is good, together with a bunch of other orange cards and some neutral CtM-hate it makes a pretty good deck. If you then in the last minute before the tournament is too scared that people will pack lotus to counter Yog you slap a unnecessary knight on top of your 45 good cards that you don't want to remove you get the deck I took to and won the Nordic Championship with.

It went 4-1 during swiss and 2-0 in the cut.

Thanks to Simonmoon for the base of the deck, I just had to remove the fun cards (Bhagat) for the boring slums, and NRE for Employee Strike.

Very nice - did knight get installed a few times? how was it?

How did inject work out for you with all those programs in the deck?

26 Sep 2016 gejben

@xanshinit got installed and used once and it's not bad. It's quite nice for Little Engine i.e. But it is probably the worst card in the deck and it's better to play 45 cards and draw the good ones instead.

@nungunzI never had all copys of a breaker getting trashed by inject either in testing or during the tournament and if that would happen you still have deja and retrun so the risk of losing one for good is low enough.

Is there literally no way to get through a Turing on a remote in this deck, other than running 1st click and paying through?

@weylandcon1. Yog + Datasucker 2. D4v1d 3. Parasite + Datasucker

@weylandcon: With Parasite, Datasucker, Yog.0, Ice Carver and D4v1d I think there are enough ways to handle turing.

@gejben Love the deck, thoughts on dropping the ice carver for a third Liberated Accounts??

@hutch9514 I don't think the deck needs any more money and Ice Carver is really good. I never installed it during the day but that's just because I never drew it. If you do you will then be more reliant on D4v1d to break tollbooths and such, which maybe is ok. I would not but you can try :)

I feel like Ice carver makes David worse

Won a GNK with this yesterday against a sea of HB (went 5-1 on the day - GNK had a cut to top 4). First time out with this deck though I regularly play medium Whizzard. David wasn't used the entire day, and Slums wasn't needed, though Knight did good early game work, and Ice Carver was solid. Grimoire definitely necessary and the initial virus token boost really useful. The economy package works well enough once you learn the balance point. Even when it runs low this deck can still recover and win. Remember that blanking or cheapening ice with Yog, Ice Carver and datasuckers or parasite is part of the economy package.

I did have an Inject that hit both Mimics and the Knight but with Deja in hand, that I foolishly left for a turn and later found out he had a Chronos Project in hand but fortunately no Biotic!

Hi, on wich assets do you use the Salsette Slums please ? What do you think of 1 Salsette/1 Rumor Mill ? Thanks.

@Manu l Humain: Slums is only tech for NBN: Controlling the Message to make its ability not trigger. In nearly all other match ups I discard them. Maybe if you face IG it could be worth removing the Bio-Ethics Association and also makes Hostile Infrastructure not fire.

@gejben Of course ! I never played this card before and didn't think to use it that way. Thanks for the very quick answer. Have fun games.

I used this as the core of my deck for an escalation legal GNK (that I won). I was expecting shutdown-boom (and indeed my first game was against this) so I made a few changes:

+1 Plascrete Carapace, +3 Sports Hopper, +2 Networking, +1 Daily Casts for clickless credits, +1 Rumor Mill to stop the Jackson combo while I win.

-3 Inject, -2 D4v1d, -1 Retrieval Run, -2 Liberated Account, -1 Street Peddler

Went 3-1. My only loss of the day was when my 3 sentry breakers were in the bottom ten cards of my stack and compounded by pilot error.

@ZomB maybe you'd have found the mimic in time if you kept the draw ;P

How much did the tech actually do against PS Boom? I agree that adding a plascrete is totally worth it and Rumor Mill might be, but the rest seems over the top :P

Against Haarp PS Boom I needed one networking to remove the tags from a HHN and then needed one Plascrete Carapace and one Sports Hopper down and an IHW in hand to protect against the double boom from PS -Accelerated Diagnostics-24/7-Boom-Boom. I didn't use the Rumor Mill, but that's because I didn't draw it. Depending on the order of draw my defence might have gone differently.

My failure to leave credits for an emergency peddler-sports hopper was what lost me the one game I did lose against Gagarin hot tubs.

But yes, keeping inject to draw more IHW might have worked instead of Sports Hopper. Though if you don't see plascrete you need to draw to at least 7 cards as soon as they power shutdown.

I thought Rumor Mill was a reasonable include as it was more generally useful, but I never got to use it on the day. The one time it might have been useful the corp pre-jacksoned in case I had Rumor Mill...

I guess if I had left 2 economy cards rather than taking networking I could have paid off the tags the hard way too - maybe. But I like being able to run lean.
