Harishchandra : Where you Tag and Boom to the Stars

Jimbawa 46

Disclaimer This is my first published deck, I am in no mean an expert, you play this deck at the risk of your own credibility.

The main point of this deck is to get the runner to either give up on tags or have him waste momentum in the removal process for you to score agendas and/or kill him.

Casting Call on GFI early on gives a pretty bad start to the Runner or a free 3 points for the Corp. If he takes and removes all tags he's low money and you can easily ice a Breaking News to Exchange of Information a 1 for 3 points or even ICE + install + advance and kill on the following turn. If he doesn't remove the tags he dies from BOOM! or gives you a new window with Closed Account.

If you don't wanna ice Archive from Tëmujin you can always try punishing the Runner by dropping an agenda in it and Midseason him (assuming you have similar or higher credits) to his death with BOOM! or score from Psychographics.

The point of this approach is that both threats are very real. If the runner stops running and start to build up you can easily punish him from Breaking News + BOOM! . If he stays on the offensive he's going to get tagged one way or another since Data Raven or Crisium Grid + Bandwidth are both "guaranteed" tags if the Runner wants to run on the server. This again means your BOOM! kills him or your Closed Account give you a scoring window.

A single tag followed by Closed Accounts + Hard-Hitting News is not only very hard for the Runner to immediately remove but even if he manages it, the odds are that he can't afford to run again which means... you again have another window to setup #Breaking News into BOOM! for a kill or Project Beale + Psychographics if he didn't remove the tags.

Why no Sea Source ? Because its only real use would be to Closed Accounts which you can still achieve with Breaking News or from the many tagging ICE. Also have you heard about Hard-Hitting News?

Then why only 1 Hard-Hitting News? Because of its limitation (ending the action phase) the card (at least in this deck) serves more the purpose of convincing the Runner that he "WILL ALWAYS BE TAGGED" rather than serving as a combo generator. Also, 3 Jackson helps bringing back those single operations such as Exchange of information, The All-Seeing I, Midseason, as well as the much needed Hedge Fund, Sweeps Week and Closed Accounts "when" needed.

Why #Casting Call again? Because the 2 tags gives it amazing synergy with #BOOM! and removing those 2 tags early basically means you traded 1 click for 3 click and 4 credits (run+remove). Why 2? Because the card is mostly effective early on as a free score, momentum breaker or kill threat since later on a Runner with any decent setup will probably have the economy to simply run and remove the tags (which you could still break with 2 #Data Raven or #Bandwidth + #Crisium Grid for 4 tags followed by #Closed Accounts)

Thx for reading, I hope you enjoy this deck. Please again refer to disclaimer before yelling at my unskilled deckcrafting.

It's always nice to see decks like this that try to make something different from the meta based on several synergies and with a clear game plan.

The inclusion of Casting Call is very interesting as I'm fond of the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of cards !

Have you considered slotting Salem's Hospitality ? It seems fitting with your ID and can also snipe Networking or I've Had Worse to clear the way for a BOOM!

Also it's worth noting you're one Weyland card away from Consulting Visit, which would allow you to fetch your singletons tag punishement on demand !

I like it, been wanting to see someone make something out of this ID for a while, I agree with Ladriel, Salem's Hospitality would work nicely, like even if they get tagged and immeditly remove it, you'll still get a a peak at their hand, giving you things to target if needed.

@Ladriel I wish I could've fit Consulting Visit in the deck but I find 3 BOOM! to be more consistent, the 3 Breaking News are pretty mandatory and the agenda density won't allow 2 Global Food Initiative.

Salem's Hospitality was a given at first but what made me cut it from the deck is the cost/strength of the card. Sure you can snipe that 1 card but... so does 7 meat damage, along with the other cards he has. I wanted to have a more momentum focus deck where the BOOM! is a very real threat but not the objective. You kill the Runner if he tried to early pressure you or because he gave up on being tagged to run but if he doesn't want to die he "can", but that will give you momentum to score.

So tl;dr I find that Salem's Hospitality would fit better in kill focus deck while this deck is intended to kill the Runner "if he doesn't respect your tags" and score if he does.
