13th place Worlds - Manhattan Project

mathandlove 423

This deck placed 13th and 39th at Worlds this year. Nick and I secretly developed it over Jinteki over the past month. Akk used this deck for inspiration for his deck that ended him in 4th place. I named it the Manhattan Project because I felt bad for Chris Hinkes' deck being named Cambridge Jinteki when I lived there, so he now has something named after his home.

The basic jist of this deck is to kill the runner. The easiest way is to use the combo of 1 scored Breaking News, Powershutdown Jackson, Accelerated Diagnostics for 24/7, Boom, Boom. You can win on 3 credits. With the insane amount of card draw you can get the combo fairly easily by turn 4. Ice is for cowards. This deck struggles against Shapers with New Angeles and Film Critic. That said I killed 7 out of the 8 Shapers I played against at Worlds. I once had all 3 of my Jacksons removed and I still killed through a plascrete.

Overall, we had a lot of fun with this deck. You are forced to make very interesting decisions and each runner presents a whole new set of challenges. Ask Questions and I'll be sure to answer them in the comments!

I strongly endorse this product! How many times did you get Sensie's to actually fire? I never once had it go off, so I took it out.

I regret taking it out personally. I never played hizzard once during worlds or the ARNPC event afterwards. That said, we started with 3 and you can see we are down to 1 now. I found that smart players become scared of running quickly which sets up a lot of turns for sensie.

No derived from link for the original? Shame! =P

One day I'll figure out how to do that CrimsonWraith. The original idea came from from CrimsonWraith telling me how he brought a similar Baskin Robins deck to the ARNPC worlds event last year and then we started brainstorming how to improve it. I made him this deck and told him he should bring it to worlds. He laughed in our faces bringing CTM, whatever that is. He's like the father who abandoned you but also taught you everything you know.

Hah! You're not wrong. From this page, click the edit button on the top right (looks like a pencil), and under "Derived from" type: 28060
