QuetzHandHell

HoneyBadger 141

Hi there internet!

I have been playing the QuetzHell by Willy for quite some time (thanks for the great list) and when Obelus got spoiled I knew there was something to do here. It started out with Obelus and Fear the Masses and worked to quite an extend. At that time it included Pheromones for extra HQ pressure, but since En Passant got here it switched direction.

I have been piloting this since Intervention and it has showed great results! Both at 2 GNKs (only dropped a game) and on the internet. Rage quits are not that uncommon though. If you look at the list it should be pretty obvious what it tries to do. You need to play Siphon on turn 1! No questions asked! If you can do it with a DDoS out great, if not still do it. What is the worst that can happen? Sentries are usually not bad when you don't have programs and Quetzal eats barriers for breakfast. The few times this has struggled is if the corp is able to rez a big code gate (Fuck you tollbooth!) but that is not the case in almost 90% of the games. The path from there is pretty straight forward. Siphon them into the ground, destroy their ice (En Passant is great!) and then dig RnD big time!

And now onto some of the card choices:

Joshua B.: Great card! If you can get it down before you go tag me that is good, but don't sweat it. It is a must trash for the corp so even if you throw it down with a lot of tags, the will usually credit credit trash, which gives you an entire turn to go hard on RnD.

Inject/I've Had Worse: Draws you into the siphon pieces. If you hit a Paperclip or Black Orchestra that is just a bonus. I've Had Worse can be kept in hand against Jinteki, but usually I just use it for draw.

Hades Shard: For Obelus shenanigans. Lets see how long it takes before they errata this, but for now it is a great midgame card. You have a ton of tags and this usually allows you to draw most of your deck.

Black Orchestra: I hate this card, but it is the only answer to turing. Just throw it away.

Demolition Run: This is a "win more" card, but it is a darling of mine and there is nothing funnier then trashing 7 cards of RnD and then seeing 8/9 fresh on the next round. The game is usually over by then.

D4v1d: When I ran Fear the Masses this was good, but I barely use it these days. I am thinking about switching one out for Rebirth and go into Omar or Kim. Will require some testing.

Data Leak Reversal: This is not here. I saw some decks run this at worlds, and though it is a good card it just takes too long to set up and requires too many moving parts. Also who wants to run Wireless Net Pavilion and Fall Guy these days??

Lastly I want to touch on some matchups. It eats Glacier and Kill decks. Glacier won't have time to set up and Kill is usually too poor to do anything. But as we all know CTM is where the money is at. It is a tight matchup, but then again everybody is having a hard time against it. Luckily their ice is shit. Pop-up is nice since they get more money for siphon, Resistor is not a problem due to Quetzal and Turnpike/Ravens are pretty much blank. Tollbooth can be a problem if they get money to raise it. Some run a one-off Enigma and if they get that on HQ it is a bit of a bummer. Just trash their assets and dig RnD. Closed accounts suck, but some are going down to 1 and you can get around this (Another reason to Rebirth into Kim)

And that should be enough for now. First deck up so "Yay" for me. And go team cat btw!

I love this! Rebirth would be great for a D4v1d. Any thought of stuffing in a Wanton Destruction or something to deal with all the crumby operations NBN is packing right now?

Thanks for posting!

Thanks @Veste! Now I know who to duck on Jnet ;)

+1 rebirth -1 David is probably the way to go... I dig Wanton a lot, but don't know what to remove. Closed accounts is the worst, but they usually play it straight away. HHN is blank (it actually helps you sort of) and EoI (though a pain) usually won't win them the game. But I really REALLY want to find a slot for it. Actually DemoRun used to be a Wanton, but demo is just a lot more fun!
