I have been playing since right around when elevation came out and somehow managed to top 8 my first megacity! a week prior to the megacity I played in a ctk that was set up as practice for the event and at that event I decided that the fast advance nebula list that I had been playing for the last month and a half was honestly just not very good, so without much time to prepare I decided to swap to the simplest, most fundemental corp deck I could think of, and this was that. there are almost no tricks here, it just has a lot of money and a lot of good ice. it can push agendas surprisingly fast if you need to do so, but most of the time it's playing a fairly glacier-y game and trying to shut down run based econ on the other side of the table. most of my losses came from getting stuck low on money relatively early and just never really getting my head back above water, but if you can stick a charlotte for 2 turns or so everything becomes easy for the rest of the game. The 2 business as usual, 1 tucana and 1 govsub are certainly flex slots, business as usual is there to help with the shaper matchup, as sniping a fermenter on a key turn can be huge, and the floor isn't terrible, while tucana makes rushing easier. changes I have considered making to the list would be cutting slash and burn, 2 business as usual, and 1 logjam for 1 eminent domain, 1 greenmail, 1 tucana, and 1 biawak. biawak is a monster and if you don't expect crew charm I think that that would be a very reasonable change. otherwise I have considered cutting one or both of the business as usuals and/or the one government subsidy for some type of cheapish econ. unfortunately nothing stands out to me as an option for that, but petty cash might be reasonable.
Shout out to a bunch of people that have been helping me as I've been figuring out the game: the entire madison scene is awesome and have been extremely welcoming, but especially Cranked, who is putting in the lords worth there; the group chat of fellow canadian highlander expats, who answered all sorts of my random questions; and finally to my partner Yucca who agreed to learn the game with me when I decided to quit magic and try netrunner out, having someone to learn the game with made everything so much easier.

Wow, that's an amazing achievement! Top 8 in your first megacity after switching decks last minute is seriously impressive. The description of your deck strategy sounds so solid. That early money struggle resonates – I've been there in so many games! It's fascinating how fundamental strategies can still be so effective. By the way, if you ever need a quick break from complex strategy games, you could always try Geometry) Dash! Congrats again on your success!
