Weyland consortium: Building walls

Omega 32

I built this deck after testing GRNDL refinery and slightly abusing Hadrians and Ice wall. I later included simone and was loving the advance. After a little while I changed identities to the consortium and am now attempting to refine advance able wayland. Any thoughts on this build would be cool. thx :P

I think Trick of Light could be better than caprice. Fast advancing out vulcan or even gila/profiteering, or even atlas ftw is fantastic out of Weyland.

Interesting concept. I wonder if you might benefit from -3 Woodcutter, +2 Grim +1 Archer. Trashing programs is huge when all your run-ending ICE is one type.

Also, why The Cleaners instead of Government Contracts? If 1x Vulcan is your only meat damage, the likelihood of getting the bonus meat damage seems very low while scoring a single GC can set your economy for the game.

Lastly, if you take x3r0h0ur's (very reasonable) suggestion of dropping Caprice for ToL, you might consider using the leftover influence to grab 1-2 Aggressive Secretaries. Program trashing, man. Program trashing. =D

@x3r0h0ur I considered trick of light when I was thinking of the deck, I don't know why I didn't consider it when I was making the deck here, but thx for the reminder :P.

@partialcharge I'm not to much of a fan of Grim tbh. I feel like I've been set to far back by bad publicity when I ran GRNDL and cardsd that gave bad pub. If I can this time around I want to avoid taking it as much as possible. But I only included 1 archer due to only running 1, 1pt agenda. The cleaners were in the deck due to me reading woodcutter and replacing "net" with meat XD. But government contracts will definitely take the cleaners place.

Also to include more program trashing im faced with the terrible dilemma of taking something out :s any thoughts on that ?

Yeah, man, I feel you. That bad pub can hurt. I only employ illicit ICE and other bad pub cards in one of two ways: decks that only need those cards strategically and situationally applied, ensuring the bad pub is worth its weight, and decks that give zero shits about it because they want the runner to run into a lethal trap.

On the case of what you could remove, here are my suggestions.

-2 Caprice: Too much influence and you already end runs all the time. -1 Junebug and -1 Vulcan Coverup: If you don't like bad pub, don't put the risk of taking it out of your own hands! Also these two cards alone are super unlikely to generate a a credible kill threat. Double down on damage or kick 'em out. -3 Woodcutter: I respect your commitment to advancable ICE, and try this out by all means if you're not convinced, but I just don't see how this guy ever does good work for the money. You can't surprise anyone with the damage, the strength is low, and the money and time investment is very high. -3 Matrix Analyzer: I absolutely see where you're going with this. And again, maybe try it out. But I think that influence is better spent on Trick of Light. It just opens up so many options. Also, you have no tag punishment in this deck as it stands, but if you do keep Matrix Analyzer, try throwing in some Scorched Earth.

+3 Trick of Light: In any deck that lets multiple cards sit on advancement counters, this card gives you so much flexibility it's insane. +2 Rototurret: Such a delicious surprise to a runner counting on their fracter or AI to get past all your barriers. +2 Aggressive Secretary: More program trashing! +1 Project Atlas: See how you like this. If it works for you, and you have enough $, maybe even replace the Corp Wars with 2 more. +2 ICE of your choice: Maybe some more barriers? Wall of Static? Bastion? Curtain Wall? Maybe a Grim if you can stomach it? I'm a huge fan of Caduceus in almost any deck, and this one could probably benefit from the income it generates.

Let us know what you think or, more importantly, what you try and how it works out! =D

Thanks for this, it been great weighing my options and correcting dumb little errors like removing the cleaners and what not.

I've looked into some program trashing ability, and I've come to the conclusion that if I were to pursue it further I'd include +2 Rototurrets as ive taken out all the matrix analyzers. Deciding if I should include a second archer has been the most excruciating part, only because I'm used to running allot of 1pt agendas for amazing fodder for it.

As the most recent deck list stands I haven't included much to the program trash, but I am exploring some cool ideas with +2 off the grid, some tagging with +2 salvage and posted bounty so I could run +2 scorched.

I've also decided to splash +1 reclamation order to re obtain Trick of lights, or commercialization. I've updated the deck list and am so thankful for all the input :D
