CTM Midseasons - 2nd @ NYC Store Champs (1/28)

Larro 20

After riding @TheBigBoy Sleeper ETF to a 2nd place finish at The Uncommons SC on 1/22, and realizing no one in NYC was respecting Yellow, I decided to bring both decks to the SC at The Compleat Strategist on 1/28. Relying on a die roll, fate decided I would be taking CTM for a spin, and it didn't disappoint.

This deck is identical to the CTM deck that @josh01 recently published, the only change I made was swapping the CVS for a Midseasons to deal with the incoming flood of Aarons, and it gave me an out in an otherwise unwinnable matchup in the cut.

In Swiss, the deck was 3-0 (ID'd 4th round, getting me to #1 seed), beating Gabe, Dumble and Andromeda. In the cut, the deck went 2-1, beating Andromeda twice, before losing to near-breakerless Val packing 2x Aaron. Towards the end, Midseasons and money allowed me to muscle through 2 tags onto Val after bankrupting her on the trace + burning through 7 Aaron tokens, but DDoS / Incubator / Medium allowed the final run on my Sifr-Parasite'd R&D to be fruitful and close it out.

A+ deck, just needs the right meta call. People seem to be moving off of Taps and replacing it with Aaron, but CTM has life if you can get your assets on line or land an early HHN. Midseasons is your option late if Aaron is sitting on 2+ counters, and I'm happy I included it despite losing to a Medium dig in the cut. Yellow isn't dead yet.
