Tactical Stealth Action - My First Deck(!)

senojmas 3

This is my first attempt at building a deck from scratch.

I decided to pick an ID and just build around it as best as I could.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Hi! Congrats on first deck. =)

I'm going to suggest making better use of your influence and cut down on so many multiples of the same program. You don't need 5 "Killer" programs, especially as a Shaper. Shapers main positive is being able to quickly draw cards and tutor / find what you want. I'd choose one of those programs, either Dagger or Switchblade, and only have 2 copies. I'd also cut -1x Refractor. Having two of each program still makes it easier to find them without drawing useless multiples later. I'd add in another +1 Self-modifying Code and +1 Diesel to assist quickly finding the program you need. In this deck you will always be glad to see them when you draw them.

After those changes, this will give you two card slots. If you keep Switchblade. You'll have four total Influence to use for two cards. I'd suggest Temüjin Contract. If you keep Dagger, you'll have six Influence, I'd still turn it into 3x Temüjin Contract and drop one Resource card - probably Same Old Thing.

Take away - 2x Cold Read. Do you really want to be trashing the programs you worked so hard for? Instead +1 Cloak and +1 Ghost Runner. With multiple Cloak, Ghost Runner and your ID + a Net Mercur You'll have all the Stealth creds you ever need.

When you have a full Rig you'll be using about six MU. The Toolbox is so expensive to install, but if you like it then drop 2x Akamatsu Mem Chip and add +1 The Toolbox

That would give you a free card slot, I'd try to figure out a way to drop 2 other cards and make it all into 3x Dirty Laundry.

Hopefully that will point you in a better direction without completely starting from scratch. =)

@DarkMite2This is fantastic advice thank you.

I only have 1 core so no extra toolbox's for me - but I might replace it all together with another console I can have multiple of.

I added cold read very recently as I was happy trashing due to the multiple icebreakers I had - but given your advice of making my program list leaner I might now have even more reason to abandon cold read!

@senojmas - Glad to have helped. Remember you are never limited just by the physical cards you own. You can always play online, for free, at jinteki.net. Almost every Netrunner player goes there to play and / or test decks.

Also, since this game is not collectable I've never heard of anyone having a problem with people using proxies. I photocopy my most popular cards, Sure Gamble / Hedge Fund / etc..., and sleeve them using old Magic cards as a backing. That way I can carry around a lot of different decks, that need these cards in pretty much every deck, and play all day at my FLGS without too much repetition.

@DarkMite2Thanks that's good to know, I love jinteki but have been trying to build only decks I could pilot in meatspace.

The proxies are a great shout. I was considering the same for game of thones as buying 3 cores just to be even mildly competetive seemed egregious.
