So I walk into UK nationals. The tournament is about to start. Minutes before my first game, I check some stats on Cobra...
And I'm the only MirrorMorph deck?
I'm somewhat new to netrunner as I started in 2024 and have only been to one other tournament (Cambridge Regionals), but this statistic confused me. Saddened me, even! Yes it's jank, yes you can technically get better performance from IDs like Precision Design, but think of the Value!
I thought I'd publish this deck to make a case for MirrorMorph in general. Shout out to the judge at Nationals who was rather excited to see a MirrorMorph deck and was a great morale boost mid tournament.
Im not going to do an overview on how good MirrorMorph is in general, but I'd like to go over a few choices I really feel make the ID pop.
Economy:
Petty Cash is huge in this deck. Besides the obvious upfront credits, bringing it up from archives is technically a separate action to playing an operation. This means you can use Petty Cash to bounce up on creds for a Hedge Fund and still get an ID fire, or to get an extra click with no strings attached by by the end of the turn. I tend to use this to get an extra install or to advance.
Nanoetching Matrix is great, and it can only really shine in Mirrormorph. No need to protect it, since it has great click value when it's trashed.
If you really want to get a big economy going, having multiple Regolith on the board at once and clicking each of them 1x still counts towards your ID ability.
And of course, Red Level Clearance is best used to install your cards whilst getting some extra credits.
Big Ice and Skunkvoid:
Bran is the biggest, most beautiful boy in this deck. Worth the rez every single time. Painful for Bankhar, awkward to boost, and the Runner will tend to lose a click to it just to avoid the install subroutine.
Manegarm Skunkworks and Anoetic Void is a tried and true combo, and it's potent against Deep Dive decks. Thanks to your Mirror Morph shenanigans you are likely to have the cards and credits for Void, and Skunkworks works great with your Bioroids. M.I.C only makes this combo sweeter.
The Man Himself:
The Holo Man is easily my favourite part about this deck. Asides from Ice and Skunk Void, this is where your money will be going. Either score out agendas like Project Ingatan and Megaprix from hand, or wait patiently to score out a game winning Vulnerability Audit.
Seamless launch is a helpful supplement in situations where this isn't possible, especially if you want to score out Send A Message.
If anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer them, and please give suggestions! I'm always happy to find ways to improve or finetune my decks.
If this post convinces even one person to play MirrorMorph, I'll be a happy woman. I'll be at Worlds in Edinburgh this year, and I'm hoping to see at least one other MirrorMorph deck.
Could it be you?
