Sibling Rivalry #1: Can't Counter the Counters!

StarlightCrusade 104

I did NOT design this deck...my brother did. I'm not sure how, as the corp, I would even BEGIN to counter Parasite, Sifr, Déjà Vu, Datasucker, and Trope! It might be weak to tags and econ denial, but it's certainly not very vulnerable to damage (Bookmark, #I've had worse) or glaciers (for obvious reasons). A deck that focused on absurdly cheap ice would be too weak against other things.

I am NOT looking to improve this deck. That just means my brother wins more :). I'm looking to Counter it.

(N.B.: I had to alter the deck a little bit from my brother's original version because of the MWL, and because of weak cards that he just wasn't using, but I think this makes it stronger, not weaker)

The glaring weaknesses of this deck are:

  • Econ. There's just not enough econ cards here so it should mostly be so low on credits that you could punish him with things like Hard Hitting News. This deck also loses to asset spam 100% of the time. Seriously, a Jinteki prison deck will beat this every single time, but a Controlling the Message with Sensie Actors Union and Commercial Bankers Group should suffice as well.
  • Lacks card draw. Only one Wyldside (and two Adjusted Chronotypes, whats up with that?) If they use their I've Had Worses for drawing, they're vulnerable to damage (the bookmark shenanigans could be countered with Best Defense or Power Shutdown, if you decide to take that route)
  • This is probably the most concrete one to counter: the deck has no permanent breaker solution that would allow accesses. In fact, Eater doesn't really do anything in this deck so I'm not sure why its there. This means that if you can lock down the centrals with untrashable ICE like Lotus Field, Architect or the new Self-Adapting Code Wall, he's going to have to rely on single accesses with the Overminds as the deck has no multi access either. Then, if you can secure your remote with more untrashable ICE and a defensive upgrade, or just fast advance, he can do nothing about it. Macrophage could also be worth looking into, but sadly it is Parasiteable. The deck only has AI breakers too, so Turing and Swordsman could be useful, but they too can be Parasited once they've stopped him once.

Thanks! I tend to lean glacier or fast advance on the corp side...so looking into some asset spam things would be helpful. Lotus field would be a good one too, and it's an all around good card, not just helpful in a situation like this.
