Waste Management: Building a Better Landfill (One Core Set)

I'll take you for a ride

In my garbage truck

Oh no

Simple: keep econ humming and hit the runner's rig with a hammer. Scorch if you can tag the sucker. Otherwise just do lots of trashing and look for scoring windows.

13 ICE is not nearly enough. You need to get it up to around 18. Ichi 1.0 is good, but not great. Also, Core Set only Weyland has the advantage of having Scorched Earth and no Plascrete Carapace to stop it.

@DarkMite2I'm sure you're right but I'm going to give it a couple plays before I change anything. Mostly I'm trying to build janky themed decks using just one core set and see whether I can pull anything off :)

Hmm, interesting deck composition. I was actually attracted to this via the name.

Some solid ice choices more broadly, but with only 13 ice, you'd really be wanting to run a rush strategy, because that runner is probably getting into HQ and R&D without too much trouble.

Security Subcontract doesn't really help, because with 13 ice, your getting rid of the limited amount you have. Beanstalk, Hedge, Melange and Pad will surely do for econ. I'm guessing the deck is called Garbage truck because of Security Subcontract, which is kinda cool, but like @DarkMite2said, you want wayyy more ice to pull that off, and probably 2x Security Subcontract. A one of in any deck means you just may never draw it. Also ensure you have a good spread of cheap ice (no more than 2 ) if you go this route, because you hardly want to even think about trashing an Archer, which has cost you dearly to rez.

Scorch is good - maybe think about Data Raven over the Ichi 1.0? Out of the core set, Data Raven really lands those tags. You may even want to think about dropping say one Aggressive Secretary, to slot a SEA Source, to again help with tagging.

Experiential Data - This card will come much more into its own, with more ice. Don't forget though, if your loading your ice into the Garbage Truck, you're also reducing the effectiveness of this card. Something to mull over.

Research Station - I'd drop that like a rock. Can't see any use in this deck for it (why is it important to have a really large hand size?). I'd simply swap them out for some more ice (perhaps Wall of Static).

Please don't take this feedback the wrong way. The first deck I published to NRDB was shocking, this is actually far better.

Some food for thought. Good luck, and keep up experimenting :-)

Some suggestions:

I really like to build decks around a concept (like rezzing Archer without paying for it or click-less economy for runner), having that lead idea makes deck building much, much easier.

Ahh and I totally forgot Weyland Consortium: Building a Better World doesn't work with Security Subcontract as identity works only with operations not with assets (even one one has a "transaction" sub-type)

@ScoogsyAll very good points! Keep in mind this about trashing the Runner's stuff, not necessarily my own - basically if a Weyland or HB core card has a trashing function, I decided to include it (also it's a decidedly Tier 2 idea).

In fact Security Subcontract so far functions as run bait and almost nothing else. In practice I've been able to fast-advance HT and PB to have what I need to rez Archer on the important servers and use Experiential Data as a buff. I don't own Jackson, so Research Station helps me keep stuff out of archives and have one less central to worry about. I'm sure I could use more ICE so I'll definitely give your Data Raven suggestion a close look.

Generally I love Weyland but got tired of the tag-scorch-scorch approach and wanted to see if I could trash the runner into a bad spiral with slow tempo and econ, leaving me free to advance in large windows with few servers. I'm sure it has room to improve with even this tiny card pool, so I thank you for the feedback!!
