Poisoned Blackbird Pie

DrJekyll 34

My new Meteor Mining kill deck inspired by inniscor's 'Mars Attacks!' deck. The idea of this deck is to fast advance meteor mining bypassing a Aaron marron window.

The kill plan: need meteor and 24/7 in hand (could atlas tutor one or both), a raven with a counter, a scored bounty and one other scored agenda (preferably atlas, if use a one pointer need to advance meteor once first but this risks a clot pop). Click 1- install meteor, click 2- 24/7 news cycle forfeiting the atlas to resolve the bounty, this gives 5 Jemison advancements for meteor and a tag then use raven to drop second tag and finally score meteor. The best part is it doesn't cost a credit.

At the start focus on scoring and dropping the birds feeding them apples as 4 and 6 strength sentries are very expensive to break and need that one counter which is hardest part of the deck. If the kill plan appears to be a lost cause can switch to scoring out using FA tools Audacity, Oberth Protocol or even a bad apple.

The moral of the deck is don't eat suspicious Blackbird pie you find as they may contain traces of micro transmitters which can be used to drop rocks on your head. Overall it requires a bit of set up and hurt by common tools like clot and damage prevention. Interested hear thoughts on improvements to make.

I don't think I ever saw a Raven with a counter :D
Other than that, brilliant idea :D

@Krams thanks for the comment :) and yes getting that counter is proving by far to be the crux of the deck.

Maybe just try to play two 24/7 instead? :P Need an extra agenda scored and something like Subcontract to gain an extra click, but it doesn't rely on the runner voluntarily throwing themselves on your sword.

@postinternetsyndrome haha you might be right its only one tag but runners avoid that raven token like the plague. I did some more testing with it today and I setting up the rest isn't 'too hard' but just couldn't get that token, I even dropped 12 credits on one trace going down to zero against a runner with a loaded Aaron and they still payed up :( the problem with two 24/7 is gives the runner a paid abilities window.

Ah yes that's true about the ability window. So hasty diagnostics then...

@postinternetsyndrome Interesting hadn't considered that, it would be a bigger combo so might want something like Research Station to pull it off. With two scored posted bounties I imagine the turn going something like this: click 1 install meteor, click 2 hasty putting both 24/7 and a Shipment from Kaguya on top, click 3 accelerated diagnostics firing both 24/7 on the bounties to give runner 2 tags and 4 advancements on meteor finished with kaguya giving the final one and now you have yourself a space rock.

Yeah, still janky to be sure. :P You don't need two scored bounties though, just need one bounty and two other agendas. A full set of hostile takeovers can help with that. Influence would be tight of course, but one would drop the raven in that case. Something like this: netrunnerdb.com

(I threw in a couriers as an option and a theoretical counter to employee strike. Would be more meaningful if you're using standoff since that won't give enough advancements otherwise.)

@postinternetsyndrome Maybe I've confused myself so when use the 24/7s under accelerated diagnostics you get a free fire of a when scored agenda as there's no additional cost but to get too two tags won't you need two scored as it needs to forfeit itself? Thanks for the interest in the concept by the way I feel there's a broken combo to be exploited in Jemison somewhere and yes couriers is great and I run it in my more sensible Jemison deck I play.

Oh that's right, with diagnostics you don't need to forfeit an agenda at all. Didn't even think of that.
