The Nature Girl Wu - RDG SC

CrowOfGames 2

This is the deck I played in a SC here in Portland, OR. I played in one SC events in the area with this deck and went 3-1 with it (if only my Corp deck hadn't been total jank). The one game it lost was because the Corp player, by her own admission, got a perfect draw. I am a new player and this deck can be a little complex to drive, but not too bad. I had a lot of fun playing this deck. Even though I don't always know what my opponent is trying to do, this deck can hammer through obstacles in a way that makes it easier for new players to play, at least IMHO.

The idea of the deck is to have an enormous grip size thanks to Origami, huge MU thanks to Ekomind and put out huge Overmind programs as a result. I did not include cards like Citadel Sanctuary or Jarogniew Mercs, because really... 14 cards in my grip. Dean Lister is fantastic for hammering through giant blocks of HB ice. Chameleon and Savant help against anti-AI decks, real life saver actually. And of course if you are running Levy in this deck you have to include Dr.Lovegood so he can blank Ekomind for a turn so your grip size and MU don't go to zero for a moment and you lose all your programs.

One of the games I won with the deck was from hammering away with DDM. The other two were more traditional sackings from HQ or remote servers. The one game it lost was a to a Weyland Skorpios deck that got a perfect draw - that game was over like turn 4, turn 5? Very early. Which can be a weakness of this Wu deck - it is a tad slow to set up and get rolling. It's not slow in terms of creds, but slow in terms of clicks to set it all up. Thus I am tempted by Dhegdeer and Hyperdriver for this deck. Once its set up, its nigh impossible to stop, but in the games it loses its because it couldn't get set up fast enough - thus looking at Dhegdeer and Hyperdriver as just mentioned.

Other considerations: Beth Kilrain-Chaing? She would be very useful in this deck, especially against Corp decks running high on creds so I can get an extra click.

Hyperdriver for more clicks? See notes above.

Borrowed Satellite for more Link and increased grip size? Having more Link would have been nice sometimes and nothing wrong with increased grip size in this deck.

System Seizure instead of Net Celebrity? I think System Seizure might be a slightly more efficient card economically for this deck. And I have to have a current in this deck because Scarcity of Resources is so popular here.

I wish there was a way to recursion Dean Lister for this deck faster and more often, outside of Levy. :)

And lastly, the name of the deck comes from pro wrestler Rick "The Nature Boy" Flair and his famous "Woo!" tagline.
