An experiment with connections.

This deck is more controlish than most criminal builds.Your focus should be on setting up your connection economy composed of compromised employee, tri-maf and Kati, with calling in favors for a big burst later on. The first connection you usually want to tutor up with hostage is Mr.Li, which helps you find the rest of the cards. Hostage also helps you to find your silver bullets when needed : decoy vs scorched earth decks (CI and Supermodernism) as SEA source is often the bottleneck of their combo, scrubber vs asset-based econs (Jinteki RP and NBN), the source vs fast advance (CI mostly, but also HB and NBN). Fall guy should be used in priority to protect tri-maf and a loaded kati, or to re-use decoy and the source in match-ups where they are key.

The 1-of e3 and RDI might seem out of place but they can be key to have in the late game and you cycle through a lot of cards with Mr.Li so you have a decent chance of finding them.

The only thing I'm not too happy with at the moment is the breaker suite which favours early aggression but gets weaker vs bigger ice. I'd love to play bigger, more expensive ice breakers (the deck has the econ to support it) but I just can't find the influence and I don't want to drop to a single copy of each breaker with no way to recur them.

Cards I'm considering :

  • Gordian blade : see above. I might try -1 mimic -1 yog -1 datasucker for +1 faerie +1 femme +1 gordian blade.

  • Sure gamble : I don't think the deck needs more econ so it would probably replace either dirty laundry or calling in favours. Needs more testing.

  • Donut : can be very powerful against the right decks, but the influence is tight and the deck plays quite a few events itself.

  • Inside job : gives more flexibility early game. Again the room is difficult to find, I think it's a meta call between this (better vs rush decks) and emergency shutdown (better vs taxing decks). Also emergency shutdown is nice with compromised employee.
