Hurt People Hurt People, but I made it worse! I was working on a similar list before, though it was missing a lot of pieces still so I iterated on it until EA Sports published a better list and I based mine off of that.
I added a Clearinghouse and upped the Chekist Scion count so that runners would theoretically respect the facedown advanced cards, and hopefully run into a Cerebral Overwriter. It used to be two Clearinghouse and one Cerebral Overwriter, but I misremembered the influence on Cerebral so, one Clearinghouse it is lol, which was tweaked before the tournament started. Glad I brought my teaching decks ahaha
The rationale here is: if experienced runners aren't running advanced cards in the deck, they risk dying to Clearinghouse. And so, I wanted to provide more forks by including the Clearinghouse, while still having Cerebral in the deck, plus upped the amount of Chekist Scions. And since they now want to check facedown cards, Idio loses some value.
I also wanted 3 Gaslights as I think the deck can definitely assemble kill combos quickly, plus more copies of Touch-Ups as well since it's just a busted card!
The deck wants to kill fast, since it doesnt have the same inevitability/pressure as the original list, and was also my experience on the day. I just wanted fast games, I wanted my corp games to end in 5-10 minutes, for either side.
One Sprint because I had a floating influence but I didn't know what to add. lol
This deck was untested, just sleeved up and brought to the tournament!
Win vs Ryō “Phoenix” Ōno: Out of the Ashes - Mira
She ended the turn with 3 cards in hand, so all I needed was to Gaslight and Hearts and Minds an Orbital and EoTL.
Win vs Ryō “Phoenix” Ōno: Out of the Ashes - Lucius Felimus
He stole 5 points from the get go so it's hard to advance anything, as he's just going to run it. He ended the turn with 2 tags from a last click Behold! hit, but I only had one End of the Line, so I resorted to trashing Tsakhia "Bankhar" Gantulga and Side Hustle instead. Then, I started developing the Tomorrowʼs Headline behind a Ping! as a hail mary to win. Vera Ivanovna Shuyskaya and Gaslight for EoTL got me there in the end.
Loss vs Nyusha "Sable" Sintashta: Symphonic Prodigy - Faust
My Turn 1: I install 2 cards.
Sable Turn 1: Mark R&D, run R&D, steal Send a Message. Check R&D again, nothing.
My Turn 2: Install 2 cards.
Sable Turn 2: Run R&D, steal Next Big Thing. He says "I'm feeling lucky," runs R&D again, rips an Orbital Superiority. It do be like that sometimes! Fun moment regardless!
