Mwanza PE - 3-2 at OTG MN Regional @ FFG

gophers79 15

Piloted to a 3-2 record in swiss at the Off The Grid Minnesota Regional. One of the losses was to regional champion Ajar whose Freedom runner never used his ability but was solid and thoughtful enough to get to 7 points, and the other was to a Jesminder build that slotted Film Critic and played smart, along with some solid misplayed Netrunner by yours truly.

Wins were a Philotic kill, a Snare kill, and a Punitive kill.

This deck runs a ton of money, because the primary win condition is a mistimed access on a Fetal or Obokata paired with Punitive or double Punitive.

Thoughts on the deck: cut 1x Punitive, 1x Slot Machine. Add in 1x Border Control and 1x Neural EMP. The Chrysalis didn't do that much, although it did fire as 'value damage' when I put it on the board a couple times.

Mwanza is scary and fun. This deck itself is a good time - does a lot of damage, even in losses it feels like one mistake by the runner and you've got 'em.

I found that I had to get my Punitive / money combo set up before the runner got to 4 - it doesn't do much good having the Obokata threat lying around if the runner can just draw up and survive.

At the end of the day, I care most about playing fun games of Netrunner, and this deck certainly did that. You're always one turn away from winning, and it made it a blast to play in the middle tables at our solid regional.

You need a solution to Caldera.

I would recommend either Sadaka or Voter Intimidation.
