The theory of a Chaos Overmind v1.2

PsymonTheWizard 268

Overmind spam more or less. I'm still not sure if this thing would work though and since I don't think that I'll have the opportunity to test this deck anytime soon, I'm hoping that someone here will be brave and try it out!:)

As always, I'd appreciate any feedback. * I made a small change, I removed the 2 retrieval run and added 2 legwork. * This deck has a big problem with jinteki. They have a lot of relatively cheap ice with a lot of subroutines and unlike HB you can't just use clicks to brake them.

You sure you want 'desperado' instead of 'deep red'?

Given the prevalence of memory boosting chips in Shaper, I'm surprised none are in here. Hopefully the smaller deck means you can get all the recursion you need, but I would be worried that you can only get through 4 pieces of ice without needing to refresh the overmind.

I'll give it a shot this evening; I do like the concept though.

Okay, it's not quite there, but it was pretty solid to run. I didn't have two desperados, so I used two Spinal Modems instead. Worked pretty well.

I would try and work a third e3FI in there; they are absolutely vital, and it slows you down hunting for one.

Wraparound is a thing. A hideous, hideous thing. I think it would be worth putting inti in there.

The Overmind recursion situation was actually pretty good; you can play test run, use it, let it hop atop your deck, draw it, install it, use it, scavenge it, use it, clone chip it, use it... the only issue I have is that I had to do that! If you play any other program, overmind drops to 2-3 tokens. Even with e3FI, that's really poor, and you will need the recursion then.

I think cybersolutions chips are the way to go here, or deep red

Money was a wee bit tighter than I would have liked, too, but that's probably because I run super-aggressively. It would be lovely to put Magnum Opus in, but that kind of defeats the point.

Yes, wraparound is a thing and I'd agree that a 3rd e3 is probably mandatory. I should probably remove the Levy AR Lab Access for an inti. Desperado works rather well and I was always afraid to use spinal modem (we tend to use traces in our meta). Deep red sounds like a waste because it might give me 2 extra overmind tokens but it doesn't do anything else. At least consoles like desperado or spinal modem help with the rocky economy. One idea is to remove the legworks, femme and levy and add a 3rd desperado, e3 implants, dirty laundry and lasty include an inti for the wraparounds. A second idea is to remove the armitages and the laundries and add 3 CyberSolutions Mem Chip, 1 Magnum Opus and 2 Modded. This means a lot more money and memory but a lot less speed. I could use Akamatsu Mem Chip but I'd need 2 to negate the setback of the Magnum Opus while I only need one CyberSolutions Mem Chip. On the other hand Akamatsu Mem Chip are a cheaper. Back to the testing grounds! I hope to have some games today with this. I'll post my findings.

Thanks for your efforts Jashay!

I've been playing a very similar deck a lot.

Deep Red is great if you add two knights, they also work really well with e3. Two Deep Reds and two Knights are the same influence as two Desperados, so if you can find the space (say -Sharpshooter,-1 Diesel/R&D), it's worth a try. It's been working well for me at least, although I see a lot of room for improvement still.

To be honest, I value sharpshooter and desperado more than the ability to have more tokens on Overmind. On the other hand with the ability to fetch and install knight midrun, things might be good enough to not need any sharpshooters. I'll try it first chance I get,

Thanks for the idea.
