CB's Earth Station - Highest ES at Worlds 2020 - 140th place

CowboyTintin 216

This started as Swiftie's Earth Station deck from B Com and the BLM tournaments, and then eventually changed to this version, which I suspect is quantifiably less good, but played a bit easier for me...

I ultimately decided that I just really wanted snares, and so I took out the data ravens and replaced them with 2 snares and 2 slot machines. All in all, I was pretty happy with this... While data raven is a ridiculously good card, I have repeatedly had the problem where it will keep a runner out only until they are ready to go tag me, at which point it can risk becoming almost useless... The slot machines at least kept the taxing high all the time.

My most notable win was probably against Mathandlove, playing Hayley. I got myself up to 5 points before he pretty effectively got a stargate and remote lock on me, with enough econ to be safe from most tag-and-bag dangers... He hadn't seen a Snare! yet, though, so on my last turn I used an Atlas counter to pull another Atlas into my HQ, but then installed the Snare in my remote, hoping he'd try to maintain his tempo by running it without drawing up more from the 2 cards he currently held in his hand. After a tense stargate, which didn't give him a winning agenda or reveal the second snare, he hit the remote, and I snared him to death. Very fun game, very pleasant opponent.

All in all, I feel like I placed about as highly as I could have hoped, with the tier 2 and 3 decks I brought. One or two more lucky wins with both runner or corp and I could have been much higher, but 140th is satisfying enough for me, and I had great fun even in the games I lost.

Thanks to everyone who played me, and to all the people who put on the tournament!

EDIT! I just realized that I was the highest placed Earth Station at worlds! Which is super cool.... :)

Mean deck and lucky I had Stargate online early to get rid of all those HHN. You still won in our casual game though.

@ValkyriezGaming Thanks! Over the whole day, this deck actually did much better than I was expecting, which was pleasant. :) Those two casual games were a lot of fun, actually a really nice low-stress way to end out the tournament!
