Cuillères à Hippopotames

UPDATE : -3 Dirty Laundry, +1 Mystic Maemi, +1 Trickster Taka (better econ overall)

Variation of BiztheDad deck (https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/62551/spoonin-hosh). Pushing for more creds to be able to go for longer games.

As Biz said, this deck make things easy for you. His idea is great. I just tailored it to my personal taste (I usually really dislike to get rid of cards that could be useful). Here is the game plan.

  1. Start by having Engolo on the board. No Engolo, no dices.

  2. Trash any ices you encounter with Hippo and Spooned. Spooned will always work, thanks to Engolo. This will put creds pressure on the corp, because rezzing ices that dissappears mean the creds spent gave you next to no defense.

  3. Additional econ pressure comes from Mining Accident.

  4. Stargate away!

Trick of the deck (change from Biz plan).

Paladin Poemu will bring the most value, with 17 cards to install. If you can get Mystic Maemi and Trickster Taka on the board, good for you.

Draw comes from I've Had Worse, John Masanori and DreamNet. This will allow you to run and get draw.

The big change is the addition of 3x Q-Coherence Chip, to be able to install everything. Biz went with Gachapon for more draw (but will trash some cards). While both choices are valid, I wanted to be able to go against grinding deck more easily.

If you are lucky and get Mystic Maemi on the board, it will have good value, with 18 events cards, all of which cost creds. Because of this, getting rid of Trickster Taka in favor of an additional Mystic Maemi would have been valid also.

The last change is the third Rezeki. With all 3 Rezeki, you'll be able to run the strongest glacier, even when you have to use MKUltra.

I suggest you keep the 3x Paladin Poemu. Engolo cost a lot and is a lot of tempo loss. Paladin will lessen this a great deal

For those interested, the title mean "Spoons for Hippopotami".

Nice one. With John, maybe include a Citadel Sanctuary in case you want to jack out / farm TTW counter? Maybe an Isolation as well?

@Pokerface You must have read my thoughts. I was thinking the same thing. I'm already at 46 cards. A Mining Accident or Dirty Laundry could be cut to get to 45. Slots are tight and I finally settled for this 46 cards version.

Also, The Archivist could be added to get that extra link, making DreamNet reimburse itself. Maybe is I was running a Val deck?

Great suggestions. If you try it, please tell me how it went for you.

I'd think with 3 spoons and 3 hippos, you'd never really need to install all your programs, making the Q chips kinda redundant.

@Saan In the game I made with the original deck and this modification, I usually end up installing Engolo, all Rezeki, Stargate and Paperclip. MKUltra is not usually installed, unless the sentry ices are weak or numerous. Otherwise, Engolo is often better or equal to MKUltra in breaking sentry ices. By having 3x Q-chip, I ensure getting 2 of them by midgame. Letting me have a backup in case of any program trashing (which would make me lose the Q-chips). The third Rezeki cannot be understated. It has allowed me, in many games, to extend the game further. This deck will draw it self out pretty quickly and there is no recursion. In those cases, the companions cease to be useful (except for Trickster Taka) and the clickless economy become much more important. But I tend to try to use every card, some runner are different.

If I had to take out the Q-chip, I would probably take out a Rezeki, put in an extra Mystic Maemi and Trickster Taka and The Turning Wheel or No One Home or Guru Davinder. A Kati Jones could also be include. If you have the time, I invite you to try the original list and compare it to this one. More insights are always greatly appreciated
