Do you wanna build a Katman

CodeMarvelous 20002

This is my version of the katman deck that has been going around.

Card choices:

got rid of the anarch breakers since I should be focusing on the atmans anyway.

Picked up sharpshooter for big destroyers.

extra clone chip for recursion.

Legwork for HQ pressure.

Notes: always have more money than the corp!

I'd ditch the pipeline, for the few sentries deus and sharpshooter can't break, theres the option of taking it on the chin, or using parasite, both are extremely viable options. I'd go to -1 pipe -1 zu +2 cyber cypher, and maybe find room for scavenge. Scavenge gives you resale value on your femme moving her around. I like test run + scav, test run femme and let her go away, and use scavenge on cy-cy unless you really need it for femme. That would require -3 modded +3 PPVP which is pretty good IMO.

Having just cut scavenge, I miss it in a lot of games, but here is my latest iteration after some play testing which is missing scavenge. I'd be happy to compare notes, I believe this is the strongest and most versatile (consistent, has no bad matchups) archetype in the game today.

Yeah, I'm loving this archetype right now. I feel like I always have a chance to win, and can exploit whatever angle the corp gives me. Published my own version of the deck here: netrunnerdb.com and would love some feedback.

@x3r0h0ur I've noticed you love your Prepaid VoicePADs. Do you really find they save you enough creds? You have to spend a click to install them, and use them twice to pay them off. In a deck like this, I just think Magnum is the better choice...

There are lots of reasons to use voice pad. First you can run to 0-1 credits and still rebound big/semi unexpectedly.

I don't evaluate things like most others, mostly I evaluate in game terms. Unexpected credit surges are a strong play, and ppvp helps do that. As Kate it's 1 cr to install so it takes 1 use to pay off in my mind, and I definitely use it like 5-10 times per game. Opus is a liability and tempo hit. I love opus but it's not a fit in this style. I find opus and Kati much more important in decks with boostable breakers. In Atman decks, you need only 3-5 credits per run, so the clicks you save by surging money periodically, can be leisurely invested in running and board state development.

Opus decks tend to get breakers out and only develop board state regarding mulitaccess. This deck type stacks multiple threats and attack vectors to keep the corp on its toes.

In short, opus is actually too big of a tempo hit, slightly too much mu, and overkill for the economy these decks need.
