The Rose Prince [3-4 and 4th at Denver Megacity]

I was trying to do silly things out of PT by using its free advances and touch ups to score a See How they Run with Phat and End of the Line, then realized two days before the tournament that it should, in fact, just be an egg list. So I pivoted and reworked the list, and wound up with something that looked an awful lot like DeeR's List from Summer Showdown, but with some modifications that made it a little worse but more my style. I play NetRunner best when I can make a scoring remote, so I pumped up the ice count, kept the La Costa, and added a funny yellow man and didn't test the list until round one of the tournament.

This is my first top cut at any event, you can read more about it in my runner list. For now, here are my thoughts on the deck/changes I would make

• Blood in the water did nothing. It should definitely be a Longevity Serum. I know DeeR was on Orbital, but this list doesn't tag as much
• Holo Man: Is very good in theory, but I didn't get much use out of it. I think a second Touch Ups would do a lot better and enable more funny kill lines
• Moon Pool: Should be 3x, also great at enabling funny kill lines
• Byte: I settled on 2x. I wanted the runner to always see 1. This could probably go down to 1 or 0, but it did win me a game, and in open decklist top cuts, the runner seeing a Byte makes their life just that much harder. It's probably a matter of preference, but worth investigating
• Mavirus: Notable absent, but would be a good include

Swiss

• R1: Loss vs Maggie->Maggie is a hard matchup. This deck can technically do 8 damage in a turn, but only if they let you keep Phat rezzed. I almost ground them out, but lost on time
• R4: Win vs Dewey -> Mindscaping kill <3
• R5: Loss vs Loup -> Loup got Azimat on turn 1 and I couldn't keep him down on cards, and sabotage made it hard to hold kill pieces
• R7: Win vs Padma -> Won with a score of 4 to 3 in time after the runner hit a Byte right as time was called. Very tense game, but the deck functioned well

Top Cup

• R1 Loss vs Zahya -> Lost to a Zahya list with three steelskins. I almost killed with Sting + Phat = 5 net damage, but the steelskin saved him and I lost on time
• R2: Won vs reg Sable -> This match was very fun (for me :p). I had a Touch Ups kill if I called it right, and found a hand with no events. Later, he died off of a Sting in Archives with Phat on the board.
• R4: Loss vs Maggie -> matchup is still hard

Overall I'm very happy with this result. With a little more time on the list I maybe could've done better, but I really can't be mad about getting top 4 at my first major tournament after bubbling into the top cut. All the games I lost were to very good players, and I had a blast.

p.s. if you're wondering about the name, the first list I made after elevation was a glacier-ish AU Co list that tried to kill with neurospike. It ran 3x Seamless Launch, and Flower Sermon, a card I think is comically slept on. I called that deck rose, bc every rose has its thorn and roses are flowers and flower sermon. I tried that list a couple weeks ago and couldn't get it off the ground. But given how close this list was to DeeR's "Red Prince" list, this seemed fitting
