"But how will you deal with Semak-samun?", you say? With lasers, of course!

This is my version of MatryoshkaT. It's just a good ol reg crim with tons of gas and the ability to break anything fairly quickly.

Card notes:

  • Laser Pointer: Lines up perfectly against petty much all AI hate in standard: Hammer, Semak-samun, and Hagen all get hosed. Virtual Service Agent is the only AI hate that doesn't get stuffed, but it's mostly just a nuisance. Also protects you against Stavka and rigshooting in general, since Matryoshka is rather vulnerable to it. This card does admittedly feel like a brick against NBN because half the ICE that should be observers just aren't for some reason (like why is Funhouse not an observer?).
  • Concerto: Normally, this suffers from Blueberry Diesel syndrome. However, I think MuslihaT adds just enough juice to make it worth running. You can draw it for free off Muslihat, and she also tells you what the top of the deck is so you know when you can get big cash off concertos. Concerto averages 2.2 credits per fire in this deck. It's best against assets, but at worst, it just gets cycled.

but you only have 2 lasers, what do you do if HQ and R&D each have one AI hate? It kinda limits your runs, doesn't it?
Would Scrounging for extra lasers help?

@Krams In theory, you have up to 4x Laser Pointer with Ashen Epilogue. 1x Scrounge, then, increases that up to a top end of 8(!). I think it'll depend on the prevalence of AI hate going forward whether its worth an include.

So far this meta, the decks I've seen running Hammer are usually on 1x. Semak-samun has been a lot more prevalent, though. But running Dr. Nuka Vrolyck happens to make it eaiser to grind through them. The other counterplay to AI-hate lock on centrals has been locking down the remote until you can Ashen for more lasers and/or build enough Twinning counters and cross your fingers for lucky runs.

As an aside, regardless of AI hate, I've really enjoyed running Lasers with the big scary crocodile lurking around. Really liking the deck!
