Big girls don't cry, they manipulate!

What we have here is a crazy version of Silhouette that I just thought up yesterday. Blackguard Sil wasn't working for me; Desperado Sil isn't likely to work all that well either, cuz I only have 2 Desperados and no way to tutor for Hardware. So...I decided to try out...

LOGOS!

This deck has plenty of tutoring (Logos, Hostage, Special Order), no matter what phase of the game you're in. You can analyze the battlefield and see if you either need that Mr. Li for some drawing/milling...or there's always the obvious Kati pull for when you know those expensive server runs are coming up.

My whole manipulate theme revolves around the tutoring, and installing that vital connection if you don't draw it early enough. It's got some defense, unlike earlier versions of my Sil decks. New Angeles City Hall for those times you KNOW you're going to get SEA/Scorched or they think they're going to close out your account. :P Data Dealer is there for those pesky Jinteki feat. Shi'kyu and/or those 1 ptrs. (soon to be 0s in Domestic Sleepers) that you pull and think you can afford to let go depending on what's happening.

I've got icebreakers for most occasions...just no Deus X cuz of influence. There's Overmind with some memory boost love...though it's still mildly effective without the boost. I MAY consider removing 1 Dyson Mem Chip in favor of an e3 Feedback Implants...but meh, not sure at this point.

I have my Sneakdoor on hand for, well, whenever it pops up...and the econ seems to be pretty good, especially with Same Old Thing there for backup. Lastly, and perhaps the only confusion point in my deck...should I add in more Clone Chips, and if so, what do I take out?

Actually thinking about removing the Clone Chip in favor of Professional Contacts...thoughts?

I cant see 1 new angeles been of much use especially with no fall guys, also seems odd to have the dysons and no underworld that could be a thought.

Also am not sure removing the clone chips a good idea as you will have no recurrence then for programs and no protection against program trash which cud be an issue with all the 1x programs. possibly a levy would be better tho.

Hi there!

Have you tried the deck yet?

Some things I see at first glance:

  • What's the idea of Pawnshop in this deck? As I see the only possible targets for it would be 3 daily casts, the Data dealer, maybe the compromised in late game?

  • I don't see pressure (HQI/RDI/Maker's/Legwork), if you plan to run only on remotes after exposing agendas maybe you should get some infiltrations, just in case they lock HQ really hard.

  • I would consider dropping the pawnshop and 1 or 2 lucky finds to release some influence, get in gambles instead of lucky.

  • I don't see clone chip strictly necessary you have 3 faeries and Garrote for late.

  • I don't like SoT with this few Events, maybe dropping 1 or 2 for inside jobs?

I like the idea of having different connections, and data dealer is a good addition, very underrated by most players.

@teky they already have gambles in the deck so cant trade lucky for them, tho am not a fan of lucky my self cos of the influence cost i realize it's a good card.

i see 1 more target for pawnshop (overmind) but agree it has limited use.

as for clone chip yeah i don't think its strictly necessary but with only 1x of breakers i feel some fall back plan is needed this is filling the spot atm tho i feel levy is a better option with only 40 card deck. That said i play a guy regular that's decked my hacker 3 times now tho hes yet to beat me that way.

@teky - I do have OCTAGN and could play online...but not sure if I could do that during the week, as I work 3rd shift. I'd really love to save this as a file and try it out though against you. I'm currently testing out a Kate deck that I built, so during the next week or so, I will continue to tweak my idea for Manipulette. :)

@Pinkwarrior - While Clone Chips are worth considering, for sure, I'm trying to see if the Hostage w/connections combo has something to it. New Angeles City Hall is for when they try to SEA Source me, or if I hit a Snare...later on in the game, I'll have the credits to make that a non-issue, and Fall Guys won't be needed, IMO.

As I stated, though, I take all feedback seriously and I shall dig deep to make this concept work. Thanks again! :)

Oh, one more thing...I know it seems wierd with only 12 events to have 3 SoTs...but that merely narrows it down to what to use the SoTs on, I think. Sure Gambles are a target anytime, and Lucky Find (slowly becoming a favorite of mine, even though the influence cost does seem somewhat steep to some) for that burst mid to late game. Can always re-SO that Femme or Faerie for quick breakage.

Adding in Inside Job is on my mind...it's kind of a tie right now between that and Security Testing for more econ... :)

@teky - I was thinking...should I drop the Lucky Finds to add 2 Magnum Opuses and a Professional Contacts maybe? Might actually help my econ long term...

@esutter479 I think MO and PC cancels each other a little... and dropping both costs 10 creds... too much...

I feel PC is plain better, no MU usage, draw and econ... if you have that and kati you are pretty set :)

Sounds good to me...so then 2 Lucky Finds stay in. :)

This concept is constantly evolving, heh. I've even had notions to put in Tri-maf Contact (poor man's Opus), but the penalty of a tag at anytime is just too great. I'm still considering John Masanori, but that may take too much timing, and I wanna be aggressive with this deck as much as I can without self-tagging. :-/
