Replicating Pain

Felt like posting this up after U.S. Nationals. Went 10-2, only losing to two Parasite spam recursion dex that LARLA'd.

The main reason I'm posting is to show how playing against popular perception can work well. Most RP dex I see have little to no teeth to them. As a result, Runners can get reckless when facing them, not wanting a long game. I decided to use that to my advantage with this build, which in turn led to 5 flatlines in 12 competitive games. I think that's pretty strong for a deck that isn't dedicated to murder.

I'll spare you any card choice breakdown; we all know how these dex work. Put punishing ICE on Centrals, and ETR/Elis on assets and remotes. Use Jacksons liberally. Don't be aggressive. Enjoy.

Looks like a pretty good nightmare. Been playing it out in my head and I wouldn't want to break it.

It is a great deck. Even during that Parasite spam match, there was a point I had to access your HQ with 0 cards in hand, very much risking a flatline. Super scary.

Enigma over quandry? 3x each Komainu and Tsurugi... do you not wind up in money troubles against capable criminal and anarch players?

Nisei Mark 2 over NAPD is another choice I wonder about. Do you not find that aggressive runners are able to score your agendas very freely? In my build I don't run any 'fre' agendas, and I still find there are times where I'm not quite taxing enough for my tastes...

Just a few thoughts. I like the build on the whole! Cheers!!

Nisei MK 2 is the Astroscript of the deck. Most people will have 4 creds ready if they're going on an agenda run. I feel that scoring one (or gods forbid, two) Nisei is an easy Game Over. NAPD is weak sauce. ;)

Enigma is more taxing, and doesn't die as easily to Parasite. The Sentries are the crux of the deck.
