Tempered by ICE

This is a flash-freeze style ice fortress, using The Foundry: Refining the Process. This is build around bioroid ICE.

The basic strategy is to quickly form an expensive barrier for the runner to hit. We use Howler to install ICE we've drawn thanks to the identity ability. Early on, the runner will be less tempted to run on servers after a Heinlein Grid is installed, which should help create scoring windows.

Scoring Accelerated Beta Test will help to form bigger walls, and Bioroid Efficiency Research will allow you to rez the biggest bioroids on the cheap. And that will of course allow you to get some more ICE out by triggering the identity's ability.

Isabel McGuire is here to bounce back nearly-depleted Adonis Campaign.

Jackson Howard is more here for the ability to recover from bad ABT executes, when we trash an agenda for instance.

I've run one-of Cerebral Overwriter, Aggressive Secretary, and Project Junebug to keep the runner guessing as to how I'm going to hurt them. In this style of deck, traps are unusual, so it will hopefully surprise them and land an effective hit, slowing them down (if not outright stopping them).

Economy is entirely on the shoulders of Adonis Campaign and Melange Mining Corp.. This may seem a bit light, but the draw advantage from the identity ought to help mitigate this as well.

Comments are welcome.

IMO, 3 Howlers could turn into 3 Hedge Funds...again, just my opinion. :) I don't see a real need for Howlers here, as the ICE they'd be shocking the runner with would only be rezzed for a few seconds before the runner jacks out and completely avoids the big nasty. There's nothing they can do about Hedges though, except cry about your money advantage over them. :)

What I like about Howler is that it lets me have the right ICE at the right time. No killer? Have an Ichi. No fracter? Meet Heimdall. The burst econ of a hedge fund would be nice though ....

Well, if Howler is opening up scoring windows often enough, then yah...it is a good asset to have on your side. But without more econ to support clicking and advancing (and rezzing of course), its usefulness is sorta on a low side. :)

I see your point. I wonder if Beanstalk Royalties or Subliminal Messaging isn't a better choice then, to help with those turns when I have zero credits left in my account. If I have a lot of funds, I can protect a Melange and maintain the advantage. If I don't, I probably can't play a Hedge Fund anyway.
