Networking with the Professor

TMN8R 84

With Leprechaun out, I finally got around to working on The Professor: Keeper of Knowledge. It still seems one turn too slow, hitting 5ish points before losing to the corp. This version dropped Savoir-faire in favor of Deus X after playing a few against Jinteki. I really think the professor's time is here, this version of the deck has an answer to just about anything. 37 influence spent! The main idea is to use Professional Contacts to draw up, use Modded to get programs out early, toss anything you don't need to Freelance Coding Contract, and use Scavenge to throw out your fixed breakers and used up Imp or D4v1d for something more useful. Ideal late game setup has 1 Djinn and 3 Leprechaun out. I spent the Prof's 1 influence on Networking. I see it most games and it works wonders as a tag management and economic card for this deck.

no Aesop's Pawnshop for when D4v1d, and Imp become useless? With Clone Chips and Aesop's Pawnshop you could slap down an Imp eat at their hand or R&D, next turn sell it to Aesop and then Clone Chip it back in and rinse and repeat.

@Foxtrot Four True however you have to find the thing first and with only 1 influence and 1 per core set getting one in here would be difficult.

@TMN8R I like the deck looks alot liike what am running atm ( netrunnerdb.com ) mines a little gimmicky but is running surprisingly well. Id suggest getting QT in the deck it helps so much with Freelance and Diesel.

@TMN8R also i totally agree with you that the professor's time is here it will only get better with code syphion i reckon.

I used my influence on easy mark as i wanted the money but how are you finding Networking id not thought about it does it save alot of cash as in 3+ creds :P

@Foxtrot Four I like Scavenge over Aesop's Pawnshop for that role in this deck for three reasons: tempo (no install), versatility (can also be used to reset breakers onto new Leprechaun installs), and there are only a couple of cards in the deck I'd pawn off (Imp, D4v1d).

@Pinkwarrior I would love to get Quality Time in here, and I think it would help with both speed and econ, but what to take out?

@Pinkwarrior I really like Networking actually, but I play fairly regularly against an NBN: Making News tag-storm deck so using the professor's 1 influence on something to mitigate that was necessary. I really like the ability to keep it coming back to my hand since I can't play more copies, plus the Professional Contacts and Networking theme combo feels so very academic and fitting.

@TMN8R I would probably drop probably drop 1 of modded, scavenge and pro contracts for the QT's, with the QT's your more likely to hit them anyway and your not actually losing them then either.

Also i may look at going for networking too then tagging is an issue for me with no plascrete's / crash space or avoidance i have to be careful about been tagged despite not having anything to trash.
