BURN THEM ALL alt text

This is the deck that I brought to the Euregio tournament last sunday in Essen. This deck carried me to the 8th place (47p), whereas "blackmail au revoir turning wheel andy" only performed 3-3 (2 wins were hades shard only :p)

Big thanks to Falko for organizing this great event again, in that awesome venue. And big thanks to Marsellus for organizing the "Make Weyland great again" challenge. I will use the Gabe well sir. The rules were simple get as many wins as possible, a tie would be broken by amount of flatlines.

Both credits and hatemails should go to Okkdoko. I made this list after I saw him rocking the Regional in Gent last week. Most notable changes are Ronin, EBC, Diversified and Consulting Visit (TLM wasn't legal yet).

Game Plan

  1. Survive the early game. Get yourself a MCH and protect it. Get some Temple and museums. Find some econ if you can. It's not a disaster if you bleed a bit from R&D. Don't put too much effort in protecting it early, it may be breachable.

  2. Take control. Get yourself an econ lead by CBG or even Consulting into Diversified. Make R&D almost impossible to breach. And use MCH to find good targets for Heritage (otherwhise just poke them with salems). Always take the SEA if you can and try to grab 2 scorches as well. Also use your museum and heritage to filter your hand, R&D is way safer.

  3. BURN THEM ALL. Punish every run they make. If they run unprotected SEA double scorch them (salem to kill IHW beforehand). If they have plascrete consulting into PGO. I they decide not to run or just choose to pick their runs carefully get a ronin and start advancing it. Try to find a card that they have two copies in hand, so you can 2xSalem into ronin. Don't bother protecting it, they will die if they trash it.

Special Includes

Glenn Station: Since agendas really don't matter you have a lot of choices. You can start trolling with helium3. But I was hoping people might think that I was playing GT.

Ronin: The biggest issue I had with Okkdoko's list was that he had to donate agendas in order to bait a run. That is impossible if they have 6 points and scary if they have 4. The runner could also just give the corp a few points so the Hives on R&D become useless. People will still run on IAA when you play ronin, and if they don't they will die. No escape possible.

EBC: There are some weird decks going around. The second place went to Elodius playing DDOS false echo for example. Since he's from my meta, I know this deck and I had to be teched against those shenanigans. It also helps vs Snitch turning wheel. If your opponent is playing normal netrunner, it's just a second tech startup.

Diversified Portfolio: A popular strategy is to kill CBG and try to be richer than the corp. It's almost impossible with Divesified on a stick thanks to MCH and consulting. It also speeds up the game when you have to PGO a plascrete.

Games

Round 1 vs Kate

He focussed on R&D and kills a hive and Tour guides with parasite. But the other hive is causing him problems because of lady. I make a terrible mistake by not naming Saccon when I see it in hand. He gets plascrete saccon online and barely runs. When he does I decide to keep my combo in hand and go PGO -> use JH -> MCH for consulting into PGO. 60 credits later his defense is gone. I get myself another credit lead and start the ronin. He runs one more time and gets the winning agenda.

Round 2 vs Kit

He starts our conversation by saying he never played against gagarin (oh boy). Turn 3 or 4 he plays TME with a SMC on board I rez a tour guide and he jacks out. Oh boy he forgot to pack a parasite. He never got meaningfull accesses and I ended it with SEA double scorch.

Round 3 vs Jesminder

I have a terrible start with 3 agendas Diversified E.Mills and a tour guide. Somehow I manage to recover. And his first siphon lands when I have 40 creds. I finsh with salem SEA scorched.

Round 4 vs Stealth Andy

My opponent also plays gagarin so it will be a bit harder. He uses a councillman against my MCH and trashes it. I will never get another one this game. Still because of Jackson I do find the Kill, but he start to bounce on my hives to get turning wheel counters. I manage to get some assasins on my centrals so he can only get one token every turn. I get myself a ronin, and he has to go hail mary seeing 8 cards in R&D. I think he sees 2 agendas leaving him at 6 points when I SEA 2xScorch him. Close game

Round 5 vs Whizz

Turn 1 he plays employee strike and starts trashing all my stuff. Lucky for me, he loses a lot of tempo doing so. I score the only agenda of the day behind a wraparound, and the Atlas kills the Employee strike. I get a MCH and he gives up the trashing. He keeps poking aggressively on my HQ, but I manage to filter it clean. He decides that it's fine fine to go down to three cards installing a chronotype. But MCH->Consulting->SEA and scorched proved him wrong.

Round 6 vs Kit

A bit of a weird game. My opponent clearly hates these kind of decks and he's on the brink of conceding. He decides to just go Yolo and plays super aggro. But also he forgot to bring a parasite to the tournament and sees that it will be a problem. He gets an utopia out and I kill it a few turns later with SEA. He pops it early and snipes the 1 scorched in hand. He just gives up and declines to remove the tags waiting to be killed. Sadly because he killed the scorch I can't double scorch him with Consulting. Two turns later I got the kill, but he installs the plascrete that he drew and removes the tag, to make it difficult again. I just get myself a ronin behind tour guide and hive and 2xSalem into ronin for the kill

Side note: All corp games were between 20-30 min

Burn all the non-believers! Nice job getting that sweet alt art Gabe.

I agree you need something against runner who don't, well, run. Ronin is an inspired choice though, didn't expect to see that one (4 inf!). Personally I just pack a Posted Bounty now as the catch-22 solution. And hey, don't knock scoring out: 2-pt, 2-pt, GFI keeps your Hives alive and actually let me score out in the Gent regionals :P

Yeah, MCH+heritage/consulting/salem every turn is totally fair.
