Almost all current corps are predicated on forcing the runner to make a mistake. The wider the decision space, the more possible lines there are for the runner to evaluate in the face of hidden information, the more likely it is for them to make a mistake.

[x correct and safe lines] / [y possible lines] -> you want this % to be as small as possible. This is also why I play simple runners, so that the number of possible lines is constrained to keep the % big.

Plus, it's just fun to kill people. Murder generates more dopamine than scoring to seven, and that's a stone cold fact.
