The True King of Birds (v2)

tantale 93

You are playing Ayla "Bios" Rahim: Simulant Specialist, but secretly you are playing Nasir Meidan: Cyber Explorer. Ayla allows to have an Andromeda style start, which allows you to make sure you have some of the key pieces close to hand. Rebirth can also be used to assume another Id, depending on the match up.

The plan, as Nasir, is to have your breakers on your Personal Workshop. Run a server, they rez the ice, you install the right breaker with your money, you cash the cost to rez (increased by the Compromised Employees) and break the ice, derez it (bringing your breaker back in hand). Then you install the breaker back on the workshop. If you are lucky enough, this should cost you less than what it costs the Corp. You have two breakers of each type: Ankusa and Saker (depending on your wealth and the barriers you expect to see), Peregrine and Refractor (refractor is important to use Lockpick), and two Golden.

Corporate Scandal, Personal Workshop, and Net Mercur are meant to work together: * Put something on the workshop * Make a run on an empty server * Use the Bad Pub money on the workshop * Use a Net Mercur credit on the workshop * Jack out if you don't want to access * (Possibly use Order of Sol to get yet another credit) In the end, this is 2 for one click

Also Refractor, Net Mercur, and Lockpick are a way to click for credits that stores the money in a place where it is safe for Nasir: * Run an empty server * Boost Refractor with a Lockpick credit * Store that credit on Net Mercur * (Possibly use the Bad Publicity credit on the workshop) * (Possibly use Order of Sol to get yet another credit)

Notice also an important time window consideration. According to the time structure of a run, paid abilities can be used in 3.1 (during encounter) but Upgrades cannot be rezzed at that point. So if there is a Marcus Batty in the server, and if you can afford it, you may want to wait and install Golden in 3.1. If the Corp does rez Marcus Batty , either they will either trash another program, or it waits until you install Golden in 3.1 and immediately break and derez the ice. If you want to add a Councilman or a Polop, you could even trash/derez Batty if you are short in money.

This actually looks like a pretty neat deck. So, in what order would you prioritize cards? What would be the most important cards to grab for those 6 extra cards? What cards would you definitely mulligan for if you didn't get them in the first 11 cards you looked at? (6 for Ayla, 5 for hand)

You definitely want some Personal Workshop on turn one. It's drip economy, double so if you are ready to go down to zero creds in order to use Order of Sol on Corp's turn. Given that you have 6 non-zero cost programs and 6 non-zero cost hardware, it's likely that you'll have something to feed your workshop. Ideally you want at least two workshops.

After that I would be tempted to mulligan for Rebirth, but given that there is only one, I doubt you increase your chances of getting it early significantly. The main issue of this deck is draw...

For all other cards I would say that they only provide an incremental improvement to your rig or they are late game cards.

Note that you can't use Compromised Employee credits to break the ice if you're Nasir, because you gain them on rez but then lose them on encounter. You need things that increase the rez cost if you want more cash.

This is cool though! <3 Nasir.
