First Corp Deck

Rhyus 1

My first Corp deck. I only have 1 core set, C&C, Second Thoughts and What Lies Ahead (Pop-up window is the promo from the kit). As I'm a new player any helpful feedback is welcome.

You should drop Matrix Analyzer for something that destroy icebreakers. Maybe an Ichi.

Pack some more economy (3 PAD Campaing); and I would cut the Junebug for an Ichi and a Rototurret.

I strongly support your single minded dedication to killing the runner, but I might suggest dialing it back a tiny bit in the name of making the rest of your deck work. Tagging is the hard bit - punishing tags probably needs to take up less space. Private Security Force is cool, but not very good. I don't know what your alternatives are given your limited pool but you can probably improve on it. Three Scorch is a lot of murder. I'd also be tempted to cut 2/3 of your psychographics + Closed Accounts for a similar reason.

Money is a very good idea. Your best hope for the kill is SEA Source + Scorch + Scorch. That goes off if you have the combo in hand and 7 more than the runner's + on a turn after they've made a run before Plascrete hits. The way to take advantage of that is to constantly be richer than the runner so that they're afraid of running in case of the combo. Then you have a scoring window while they dig for Plascrete. Of course, Breaking News gives you another threat that encourages the runner to run. Install, Single advance makes it better than SEA if they don't run it. Your traps make that a viable bluff.

Influence is tight in this sort of deck. What you've got has definite advantages, but is slightly unconventional. Junebug is good and underplayed, but it trashes easily from HQ and R&D. Snare is the more conventional choice of killing trap. It's expensive, but you want to keep money on hand anyway because of SEA source. It threatens the runner wherever they find it and it tags them, supporting a Scorch kill. I might consider cutting 1x Scorch for influence reasons in order to play Snare. That's doubling down on the idea of your opponent finishing with a small hand. You're unlikely to find 2x Scorch early enough if you only pack two.

If you possibly can, get Opening Moves. It's pretty much impossible to make competitive corp decks without Jackson Howard. This fact makes me very sad, but it is nonetheless a fact. The other card you should probably include in any NBN deck is SanSan City grid. Sling in your one-of from the core set and be safe in the knowledge that the runner absolutely will spend 5 to trash it.
