Cheltenham Masenqo - Kitara Cycle Cache Refresh Edition

Phyllion 7

This Azmari deck placed 19th at the Euros 2018 Cache Refresh event. I’m mainly publishing because when I was researching Kitara CR decks, there were very few out there.

All credit for this deck goes to Algebraic, who has been working on Masenqo for months, with a version taking 5/6th at Euros piloted by Dave ‘Cerberus’ Hoyland. https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/50546/cheltenham-masenqo-euros-5-6th-34th-97th-

This is a slightly weakened version to make it Cache Refresh legal. One Punitive out for a Neural Emp. Red Herrings is back in, replacing Navi Grid. Crisium out for a Genotyping. We’re sadly down to one Ash replaced with a third Rashida to find pieces. IP Block for 2x Wraps and 1x Jua. Scarcity out for Rolling Brownout.

At Cache Refresh, I bid to play this deck every round, paying between 1 and 5. My Runner was a completely untested Chaos Theory, built between rounds of Friday’s Swiss. I’m glad I played 5 rounds of this, because it’s hella fun to pilot.

The deck went 3-2 but could have done better in better hands. Round one I beat a Steve Cambridge, who ended the game with no money, no rig (Jua/Degree Mill) and dead. Round two I flooded hard against Kit, seeing 5 out of 6 agendas early, and a turn one DDM gave the Punitive game away. Round 3 topdecked Punitive against an Apoc Steve. Round 4 another Punitive kill against Los. Final round I faced Adam, which felt tough. My opponent did a great job of closing down my ID ability through ES and careful play. Didn’t see a Punitive until after the first steal, then was ~6 credits short for the second.

All in all, a great impromptu choice for Cache Refresh. It’s lost some consistency compared to the real deal, with only two Punitive and a clearly weaker current. But it’s worth considering if you’re heading to a Cache Refresh event soon. Thanks Algebraic!
