This is the current Iteration of The Finger. It is the essence of economy deny in anarch, which i play since the core box and after its release with the my favourit ID, Queeeetzaaaal!
It is a Siphon Spam deck which goes Tag Me as fast as possible, better said with the first of 9 possible Siphon runs. As only ICE Breaker i play Eater. The access is not needed for the Siphon or the Wontans and for rezzing ICE on other servers the Corp has no money, in the Plan. To keep HQ runs cheap the deck has a sidedish of ICE destruction and can load a nerve agent while siphoning to get wins against mainly RP or CI. There comes the one off Run Event, the fourth blue card, Inside Job.
It is a beast with loaded multi Access Progs or a help to get into remotes and get the agenda, a surprise and can be played again with Same Old Thing.
Own eco outside the Siphon spam comes from sure gamebles, Joshua B and Day Job. Sometimes a 5 click turn with Day Job and Siphon ist the way to go.
Data Leak is another eco denial card. Siphon install dataleak run anywhere means the corp turn is sometimes taking two credits, trash Data Leak, another turn with free access on other servers. Installing the Dataleak or mor copies of it before you play your siphons is a nice way to let the corp forget about it or defend your same Olds.
When we are talking about same Old i have to praise this card, with 26 events it is one of the greatest tools in this deck, playing Hacktivist again after a score by the corp or playing deja vu to get your Ive had worse back in hand are other uses outside just siphon recursion, which is its primary function.
The best runner current in the game, Hacktivist Meeting, did force me to go to 46 cards, against a meta with asset HB and RP decks and some played corp currents it is a bomb. I play it proactively before the corp plays a current and recurr it often with same Olds in some match ups. Wanna rezz your Jackson before my archive access? Pls drop a card, wanna purge virus, sure, drop a card. Like the playstyle of this deck it gives the pilot the initiative and changes the playstyle of the corp.
Now to the deck itself, i donnot think it is a Tier 1 deck, just a hyper aggressive balls of steel instrument to have fun and shock opponents. The deck cannot win without the right pilot and will crash and burn if you donnot feel it. I won 2 Store champs with a former iteration of it and made 3rd place on the dutch nationals (Lost the looser bracket finals because of a really dump mistake with my corp in the winning scoring window). It has problems that no inject will solve always, but experience and attitude with the right aggressive mindset bring you to the top tables of any tournament.
Its biggest weakness are scorch and traffic accident, if you think you encounter such a deck, mulligan for ive had worse and get it back with deja vu. Keep those tags, with your ID and this playstyle you void a big part of cards in the opponent deck.
Of course credit is due where it belongs, Anatomy of Anarchy by Steve W has confirmed my oppinion about the strength of anarch and is a great read.
Playing Quetzal Siphon Spam as well i am surprised that you don´t need mimic. How do you handle architect? Did you miss David? A single spooned? isn´t that risky vs lotus Field? is the forked worth it?
