First, official write-up…ever…I apologize in advance
To my biggest surprise, this deck went 3-0-1 in the NANPC Montréal.
First of all, shoutout to Andrej and Maddie for the entire two days of the event. And all others that were in the shadows to make this great event. It was really fun and probably the best two days of Netrunner I had in a long long while. If not ever.
Also, a huge shoutout to Diogene who helped me build this deck and respecting what I was trying to do even though it was a bit left field.
Now…the plan!
The goal of this deck is to flatline the runner, even though I did win one game by scoring 7 ponts, thank you Gene Splicer! No traps needed (there is one, this is Jinteki after all); the agendas are the traps. You can punish the runner when you score one or … when they steal one. Either way, the house always wins, that’s odds Jinteki likes.
Opening hand: You want ice and econ. One of two agendas is fine too.
FYI: Send a Message is your weakest agenda by far.
First match: vs Hoshiko
I played against Joshua. First time I met him, and it was really a great meeting. Got some new art and a nice Snare! sticker.
If memory serves me well, I won this game by flatline the runner, but I must say it’s the one I am not sure about.
Second match: Vs Freedom
I played against Izzy. I did meet Izzy in Montreal a year, or was it two, before. Must say I was quite nervous getting in the game. I was just hoping to give a good performance when a line of play appeared.
The runner stole a Bacterial Programming. I already had both Punitive Counterstrike in hand (5 cards) and got a YDL in the 7 cards. The runner was at 4 creds. YDL, and double punitive.
Third game: Vs Loup
Played against rumormill. I managed to score 7 points (think he had 6) by scoring my Gene Splicer. I did try, after a Bacterial Programming steal, to make the runner steal a Send The Message (YDL – Punitive in hand) by placing it on top of R&D which I guessed he would run after. During the said run, that’s when I noticed the Imp with one virus counter on it. Feel I was a bit to audacious afterwards.
Fourth match:
Kysra and I decided to draw the game. They didn’t want to play against PE, which was fair.
So there you have it. A bit of good lines of play, lots of luck.
In the top cut they deck went 0-2.
First game playing Chouxflower’s 419 deck of the week. It was an honor to play against her, I did manage to score 3 points (yeah me!) and that was the high point of my game. The rest was being oppressed by a masterfully piloted 419 deck.
Second game against Ysengrin. More or less the same result. In hindsight, I did feel very nervous playing him right after Chouxflower, and feeling everyone watching did add to the stress of it all.
This deck lost a lot of power with the decklist known, and I don’t think I am a good enough pilot in this situation. I didn’t lose two games; I had the chance to learn.
