Good stuff Val (MY house) 1st at Hackaholics SC!

Jack Weyland 361

Welcome

All credit for the list goes to @d1en. You rock dude!

This is my take on good stuff Val post MWL. Slightly higher variance with -1 clone, -1 SMC. I added +1 corroder, and +3 Deja to close the variance. Val has great matchups against….well…..everything!! With the first round bye I piloted Val to 5-0 finishing 1st in swiss, and 1st in elimination at the 33 person Hackaholics store championship in Pleasant Grove UT.

I like Grimoire over Turntable. The match-ups where I want Turntable, (yellow) turn into a Val steamroll shit show with Clone, Clot, and Plascrete. Plus Grimoire/Nerve Agent/Medium helps me find the 4th agenda against FoodCoats, RP, and Blue Sun. Initially I replaced Atman with Faust. After 30-40 games I went back to Atman. In this deck, Atman is better.

Thanks for reading!

Didn't even realize you were on Atman that day because you didn't even need it against me. You had my whooped before I could even give you any targets. Well played bro, you killed it.

@HeartthrobThanks! If R&D didn't spit out three points on turn one I might have needed Atman. What can you do?!

Sweet deck man. Way to go. Can you touch on why you think Atman was better after all your test game?

My initial thought was to go 2 SMC and add the faust before I read your description.

@yeoda Thanks T! 2 SMC and a faust was in my first iteration. I found that glacier decks tend to have multiple strength 4 ice: ichi 1, eli, Ashigaru, Bastion, Lotus, and viper. Faust was just to taxing. Also, Faust works great in decks with cards that have high potency and low general utility. i.e. Apocalypse, siphon, cutlery, etc. Good stuff Val has cards with moderate/low potency and high general utility. It could just be my play style, but I think Atman is better.

Well done!

What is your experience with tag heavy decks?

@Feisty Thank you! I assume you're talking about HoneyComb, glass shop and the likes? Decks with Data Raven and Gutenberg or R&D? I poke for 3-4 points in HQ, R&D, and remotes dumping tags that turn. By then I have clone, SMC, clot, and plascrete (whichever is needed) ready to install. I throw down medium and go full tag-me. R&D lock till it's over. Honeycomb has died in my metta because of tactics like this.

Wow thank you! I'm glad others are continuing to enjoy the deck and it has brought you success in your SC season! Thank you for posting up your updated list through this MWL!!

What about adding beach party to increase your grip size to 10 for no loss of a click (adjusted chronotype).

@rex_monolith Chronotype only works once per turn, and he's got Wyldside. Wyldside is a much better use of that click. There's not really a big bonus to having an increased grip size if you're not using Faust or Game Day.

Great deck @Jack Weyland! Do You think that this deck is good in a neh Fastroteam full meta? Can You keep up without Turntable?
