Virulent Wyldsoul (1st Place @ Petrie's Winter Series 2)

CrimsonWraith 3643

Won an 11-player tournament with this deck last night. It's an updated variant of my Atman/Aesop's Noise build that I was playing several months ago.

Notable changes from the prior build:

  • Fewer copies of Aesop's, Cyberfeeder, and Medium, not particularly happy about losing the Aesop's and Medium, but I feel the cards taking their slots are worth it.

  • Cut Dirty Laundry completely, it's been an unnecessary piece of my economy for a while in this deck and is entirely unreliable in some match-ups.

  • Full set of I've Had Worse added, and it worked incredibly well against Personal Evolution, a match-up I tended to struggle with the earlier build, also gives some meat damage protection to a deck that's never run Plascretes and works for card draw in other match-ups where you're digging for something specific.

  • Added Hades Shard at the cost of a third Aesop's, it seems to be working well so far, though there have been games where I've not seen Aesop's until much later than preferred and missed that third copy.

  • A single Gorman Drip v1 as economy and another virus mill, because I had a single influence pip remaining, also heavily considered Utopia Shard in this slot.

  • Added a couple of Incubators, which have been a really powerful multi-purpose tool in this archetype, as they can immediately boost a Medium or Nerve Agent when they hit the table, unexpectedly take-down a big Parasite'd ice, or boost Datasuckers to get through a server w/Atman that the Runner didn't think you could get into.

Man. This deck is quite good. I've been play testing it for the entire day online and I've lost maybe two in THIRTY games.

You should be proud of this if you brewed it yourself. It's dynamite!

Thanks @OathSworn! The original idea wasn't mine, that credit goes to @spags and his Millman deck. I tweaked it several months ago and did rather well in a couple tournaments with my own variant, been playing it off and on ever since.
