Devilled Pancakes on the Beach

This deck was made for a tournament where IDs were randomly assigned. There was also an understanding that the point of the tournament was to try to blaze a new trail rather than playing the established archetypes. Everyone was playing something weird and wonderful instead of facing their 5th Kate/RP/Noise/NEH match of the day.

The core idea is that while Kit will obviously rock a decent decoder to handle one ice servers, at some point the pesky corp will put multiple ice down and you need some way to break through. Enter Faust, a solution to all ills. Then all you need are cards to fuel it, and Shapers are great at drawing.

In the spirit of the tournament, the draw combo I plumped for was Beach Party + Game Day. Then I spent some influence on Adjusted Chronotype to get the click back from the Party (the first Party anyway). Aesop's Pawnshop can be used to sell a Beach Party if it gets out of hand and you think the extra click would be more useful.

I opted for Comet as my console, as I am running so many events. In practice I think so many of them are situational I often skipped the "free" event, so it usually wasn't worth what I spent on it, Astrolabe would probably have served me better.

It was great fun to play, though I did pretty badly (1-4 I think) - I'm not a very experienced player and made a lot of mistakes, but it felt like there could be a reasonable deck here with a bit of tweaking. There were certain bits of ice which become very expensive for Faust (Wraparound, Komainu spring to mind as ones I encountered on the day).

At one point I drew up to 17 cards though, which made the whole thing worthwhile. I also got 5 brain damage in the same game and just laughed it off. Good times.

Hahaha, was very fun to play against! Absolutely mad to watch at the table before me, especially after you laughed off my 5 Brain Damage!

Certainly was an unique deck to witness, and I would be in agreement; with a few tweaks this could easily become extremely powerful deck!
