Haarp Hate Leela (1st Place, Atomic Empire Store Champs)

Tichy 36

Brought this to the SC at Atomic Empire in Durham, NC. Went 3-1 in Swiss and 2-0 in the cut to Top 4.

The plan was to bring Bullshit NEH (thanks Calimsha) and Whizzard, but I really hate playing Whizzard and wanted to build a deck I'd actually enjoy playing, thus this Leela deck. This uses only a couple of modifications from similar Leela decks that have been posted.

Hate Cards:

Film Critic because I lose Psi Games and don't like getting Midseasoned. I'd rather play safe than get maximum value out of Leela's identity. Also, I can steal two agendas per turn against Haarp instead of 1.

Data Dealer because I was expecting more Haarpsichord or things with News Team and for the one guy in my meta who really likes Jinteki. Also, I like Data Dealer as a card, because even if you break even (sac an agenda to get enough cash to score another agenda of equal point value), it was probably worth it because the corp won't have it.

NACH was a last minute include that I didn't play all day. I played against FoodCoats 3 times, which made this a dead draw and I never saw it against my TTN or Argus match ups.

Drive By because who needs to win Psi Games when you can shoot Caprice in the face? Once your opponent knows you have it, they'll immediately rez those assets, which sucks.

Other choices:

3 Special Orders and 2x breakers are necessary to get your breakers out quick. I was able to beat almost every gear check that day because my full suite of breakers were out in the first few turns. Also you still have backups for that guy that Batty's your programs to the heap.

Film critic does not trigger Leela.

@nintendom I never said it did. I said I used it to deal with problematic agendas, where using the Film Critic is better than dealing with the psi game or other agenda nonsense.

Ah ok, i misunderstood then. Do you think Peacock is a better option than Rex? Seems to me like that would be a good change. I usually run 1 special order and same old things too in my leela decks. Especially useful for recuring inside job and account siphon. Always happy to see leela do well, shes fun.

Rex edges out peacock on a few pieces of ICE, mostly multi-sub codegates. The most common codegates are probably Enigma, Tollbooth, Quandary and Turing.

Rex>Peacock on Enigma and Quandary. They break even on Tollbooth and Turing. Personally, I'd rather take the hit on credits then be limited to 4 uses of Rex (or 8 with 2), but I've run similar Leela decks with Rex and it works well and is definitely a change that can be made to the deck. Another thing I considered is passport instead of peacock, which I think would be a good exchange.
