[VSC3] Resources Zahya

linduxed 9

How to play

  • Career Fair will help with getting out your resources, which are all rather expensive. A very good card on your starting hand!
  • Inside Job and S-Dobrado (although the latter only for central servers!) will allow you to bypass the outermost ICE, which is a very powerful effect. Make sure to not burn these cards without reason: you have a limited amount of them, and if you'll just get to see one random card from HQ or R&D, with no knowledge about what might be in there, then you're better off waiting with using the card.
  • Much like Inside Job, you have a limited amount of Legwork, so don't use them without reason. If the Corp has drawn around 6 cards since the last installed agenda, it's likely that Corp has at least 1 agenda in hand. If you keep pressuring the Corp, making it hard for them to score agendas or keep assets alive in a remote server, then the agendas will pile up their hand. This is when Legwork will be useful. Remember that Legwork combines with Docklands Pass for even more accesses!
  • Shibboleth gives you strong pressure against "Code gate" ICE in the early game, but remember that Shibboleth gets weaker at Threat 4! For late game, you have Unity.
  • If the Corp chose to not rez an ICE that you just passed, then Forged Activation Orders might result in them trashing the ICE.
  • Verbal Plasticity should be put down as early as possible in the game to gain good value from it (can be made cheaper with Career Fair). Putting it down at the end of the game is not valuable, as you'll be better off just clicking for credits and draws. If you don't think you'll use it more than 4-5 times before the game ends, then use the credits for something else. Career Fair helps getting this out cheaper, however.
  • Tremolo requires Hardware with the subtype "Cybernetic". You have 4 of those in the deck (2x WAKE Implant v2A-JRJ and 2x Zenit Chip JZ-2MJ). Without any, using Tremolo is overcosted. With 1 Cybernetic Hardware, Tremolo is a bit clunky but acceptably priced. With 2 Cybernetic, it's starts to get cheap.

About [VSC]

The [VSC] decks are versioned collections of decks that are all built for a particular physical card pool:

  • 2 x System Gateway
  • 2 x System Update 2021
  • 2 x Parhelion
  • 2 x The Automata Initiative

Full list of cards: NRDB search for the card pool

Therefore, each iteration of the [VSC] decks (this being the third iteration, first published) comes as a collection of decks, to ensure that one can actually build all the decks with the physical card pool.

This particular iteration of [VSC] was going to be used for a "Learn to play Netrunner" event. Therefore, some choices were made to have the decks be on the side of beginner friendliness, or at least avoiding NPE cards/combos. It was also fine if the decks were not tournament material. In fact, if the decks were a bit weaker, but showcase the character of a faction then that was actually better.
