The Self Modifying Maker

djencode 22

My first deck on here, I find that there aren't a lot of Kit decks out there and she is one of my favorite identities so I thought I'd build one of my own. The main purpose of this deck is to run R&D, and run it hard! I've included a full variety of breakers to help with any situation, along with enough draw, recursion, and tutoring to get to the programs you need when you need them. Then it's simply a matter of indexing R&D, and hitting it for multiple cards. Indexing will be very useful against Jinteki PE decks, since you want do to everything you can to avoid those traps, while maximizing the benefit of every R&D run.

Feedback welcome!

Personally I'd fit in at least 1 vamp, prefer same old thing to vamp more. This is because as shaper you can get tons of dollars from opus, and then kit's ability makes it very easy to run 1 time successfully per turn. I would use femmes and atman to make runs on a single server very cheap. I feel like you'd need parasite to keep the ice count down too.

Suggesting: -1 faerie -2 cy-cy -1 gordian -1 inti -2 quality time

+1 vamp +1 sharpshooter +2 modded +2 clone chip +1 parasite

This above setup would be better if you dropped in datasuckers for Li. In which case I'd restructure your draw to include professional contacts, and swap econ to daily casts over 3x opus, maybe have the 1 Opus as a fall back on pro con and daily casts.

Also consider paintbrush, but I'm not sure where to slot it.

So I've made the following changes (apparently I can't make them to the original deck without creating a new iteration of it on here)

-1 faerie, -2 cy-cy -1 gordian -1 inti -1 quality time +1 vamp +1 sharpshooter +2 modded +2 clone chip +1 parasite

Brought it up to 46 since i figured i could still get away with that. I'm not the biggest fan of daily casts or professional contacts, because they are slow. Pro Co I find I either need draw, or need cash, so it never serves my purposes. It's expensive early game and useless late game. Daily casts is good for slow constant money, but with opus if i so chose I could just get 8 credits in a round, then make a big run the next round. But then again, with all the tutoring I have I could always find one.

I REALLY thought about Paintbrush. In fact, when I originally saw Paintbrush, I thought "HALLELUJAH! TIME TO BUILD A KIT DECK". But in practice I found it has an expensive memory cost, is only useful for rezzed ice, which makes it tricky to set up. Easier to face plant and self modifying for the ice you actually need.

Datasuckers, I can see why they will be useful, but the way I play, I forget to add counters, or they just sit there and I forget to use them. haha

I would probably drop 2x opus and 1x inti here you can test run / SMC into it as x3r0h0ur said above id add sharpshooter and clone chips tho's things have saved my arse so many times that in games when its a dead card i really don't mind.

I dont think id drop codegate breakers tho id want to increase the chance of starting with one of them as their your bread and butter with kit.

Lastly id look at SoT with so many events in deck i think it worth considering.

My purpose was to decrease the number, and incrase the tutors, that way you get more value for the deckslots. Also I think the utility of the replacement programs outweighs the value of getting /something/ to break a code gate with early.

I actually like omnidrive and lockpick in kit decks, especially ones with paintbrush. Then theres this one: netrunnerdb.com
